The Senate's Millionaires

When the latest Congressional wealth figures came out last week, we learned that no fewer than 40 U.S. Senators are millionaires. But more intriguing is the fact that the richest among them are all liberals.

The richest Senators are nearly all Democrats, and most of those can be found on the party's furthest left reaches. The seven Democrats worth more than $10 million include legendary liberal Ted Kennedy ($10.2), trial lawyer John Edwards ($13.6), national-health care proponents Jay Rockefeller ($82.1) and Jon Corzine ($93.5) and the richest of them all, John Kerry ($139.7) of Massachusetts, the Sierra Club's poster politician. The richest Republican by far is Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island ($53.6), who is also by far the most liberal GOP Senator.

Uh oh!

Since Dems love to play the class war, big bad rich against the poor, they'd better keep this hidden.

John Kerry ($139.7) of Massachusetts

That probably doesn't include his wife's fortune. The Heinz slut is the Jim Jeffords of Senate wives.

Some long-ago fat cat boasted that "someone who has a million dollars is as well of as if they were rich." But with all the inflation in the intervening years, that can hardly be said now, and at this point lotteries usually pay several--sometimes dozens--of millions of dollars . . .

If the "richest" conservative senator has only $2 million, there are no conservative senators who are actually rich. But there are lots of "liberal" senators are.

And just what did Mr. Kennedy, er, Kerry, do to create such wealth.

Check this one out for a stellar list of Senators who have no cares about taxes, including inheritance taxes.

I wonder if any would VOLUNTARILY donate half of their net worth at death, just to show us common folk how altruistic they really are?

It would be interesting to know how many of these Senate millionaires have become millionaires since their ascension to the Club...

I know of two of the leftists who have made millions through their wives' exploitation of their husband's power...Tom Harkin of Iowa, and Tom Daschle of South Dakota.

Thanks for the very, very interesting flag, my friend.

I believe that these guys are going to be very vulnerable to a freeper other non political types, that have never held a political office and will not take any corporate contributions. With buttholes like Herb Kohl and Teresa Heinz husdband in the Senate, our country is moving closer to being run as an oligarchy of the rich. I am in the formative stages of making a populist run at Herb Kohl, based on some of the hot button freeper issues like immigration, taxes, H1-B, and downsizing the Federal Government. I hope some of you will take up the fight and oust these bastards.

I've been around more than a few State Capitols in the last decade...I am always amused by the fact that it is the Deomocrat legislators who are driving the Lexus'... ;-)
