Report from Front Lines: Visit to Sierra Club Office
me | 6/25/2002 | me

Posted on 06/25/2002 11:45:58 AM PDT by RooRoobird14

Hubby just called to report on his visit to the local Sierra Club office in Phoenix.

He had tried calling many times yesterday, and couldn't get through on the phone lines.

Their office front doors were locked--he kept knocking and knocking until they gave up and let him in (LOL). The office window shades were drawn, and they obviously wanted everyone to think they were closed.

The woman who runs the office is one PISSED OFF bull dyke(not making this up). She was extremely angry that he was "bothering" them. She said she was "too busy" and "didn't have time to talk to people like him."

He asked her how many lawyers the Sierra Club employed, and she refused to answer. He asked her what the Sierra Club was doing to help put out the fires and she said "that's none of your business.". He asked her how much federal (taxpayer) grant money the Sierra Club got this year; she said "I don't have to answer that question."

There was a young man in the office who was actually polite and willing to talk to my hysband, but the B.D. was an absolute b*tch.

While hubby was in the office, the B.D. was replaying recorded phone messages left for them by angry callers. Hubby overhead three of the messages. All three were from enraged refugees of the fire who left f-word-peppered messages. One man (said he lost his home in the fire) said he was going to get even with them, he had a gun, and he'd take his time to get even. The BD was taking notes and muttering about filing police reports.

While I don't support anyone threatening violence on the Sierra Club, I can certainly understand how some of the displaced residents could be completely enraged at this point.

Frankly, I'm glad Governor Hull set off a firestorm criticizing enviro-wacko groups and how their lawsuits have paralyzed the Forest Service in general. The dialogue that's ensuing is a good thing.

Last comment hubby made to the BD and her staff: "People are really angry and you think they're unfairly accusing you of trying to hurt people with your policies. Now you know what it's like to be a Republican."

I'm married to a wonderful man!!!!!

It's about time they were held accountable for their neverending bullsh*t litigation.

The Sierra Club will spontaneously combust over this issue, if we can keep up the heat on this. All puns intended.

What a great job your husband did here. Thank him from me for being a true American.

PS 322.000 acres and counting, is a whole lot of precious, pristine wildlife habitat needlessly destroyed because of Sierra Club opposition to logging, thinning and necessary road building. Thanks a lot Sierra Club, for your burning desire to preserve at any cost.

Question for you - did your "hubby" notice if the parking lot was full of SUV's or other type vehicles? My money says there were several in the parking lot and that the "BD" likely drives a Land Rover despite the fact that those type vehicles are enviornazi targets...

"The woman who runs the office is one PISSED OFF.. "

Perhaps she saw all this as an unpleasant distraction from doing the work of OPEC and large energy company stamping out smaller competitors. Standard S.C. business.

FYI (from the local chapter website):

"June 27 (Thu) The Palo Verde Group (Sierra Club) Executive Committee meets to discuss local policy on issues ranging from conservation to politics to outings.

The 7:00 p.m. meeting will be held at the NEW Sierra Club office at 202 E. McDowell Road, Suite 277, Phoenix (in the Los Olivos hotel/office complex). For more information, contact Ted Gartner 480-961-0370."

LOL, it would be interesting to see what the Executive Committee has to say at this point!! This sounds like something Freepers ought to try attending.

If I wasn't going to be out of town (really!), hubby and I would be there (there's always next month's meeting-LOL)

SUE THE HELL OUTTA THOSE BASTARDS!!!

Wouldn't that be something. The democrats #1 contributors, Trial Lawyers, litigating a multi-billion dollar class action lawsuit against the democrats #3 or #4? contributor, the Environmental Groups?

LOL--he didn't mention SUV's, but I'll ask him. Heck, I have to sort of go that way on the way home-- I think I'll check things out!

Great story and good for you husband.

It is time we drag all of these human haters out of their Club Sierra offices and hold their elite feet to these fires. Fires that are a direct result of their anti human efforts to block any removal of dead trees, dead brush and unwanted brush.

Re this remark, "The woman who runs the office is one PISSED OFF bull dyke(not making this up).

Have you husband drive back to this Club Sierra office to see if the Bull Dyke parked its US FORESTRY SERVICE truck in the back of the Club Sierra office.

It sounds just like some of the Bull Dyke creatures with the Smokey Hat on and acting like Nazis in our forests. Of course you don't argue with them if they have a Glock in a holster as they glare at you and chase you out of an area that has become a new Druid Cathedral, we used to call them our forests.

I hope that you and your family are safe down there!

I sincerely hope that good lawyers will help these people file a billioin-dollar lawsuit against the Sierra Club. I want to know WHO gives them all their money, and we would find that out in the discovery phase. I also want to know who they give money to. I want them utterly and completely driven from business.
