Don't know. Fowler's foul plan is up tomorrow. May it go down in defeat. There are a lot of BUSINESS taxes in it.

Yes, Rand was an individualist to the core and would certainly affirm an individual's right to act altruistically, but she would still consider such altruistic actions by the individual to be immoral.
I've read a couple of Ayn Rand's books and I don't recall that she ever affirmed the moral validity of self-sacrifice -- even uncoerced self-sacrifice.

Great quote! Thanks for posting it.

Beep those horns !!! This will be necessary tomorrow (Tuesday), too. The General Assembly will reconvene at 9:00 AM central.
I will drive by before then. I hope others will visit the Capitol while I'm at work.

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." -- Thomas Jefferson to Archibald Stuart, 1791. At this time, such inconveniences are worthwhile in order to remind our elected officials that the income tax is unconstitutional and unacceptable. These inconveniences include making phone calls, visiting legislators' offices, and visibly (and audibly) showing our concerns at the Capitol steps.

When do you think they will get the message? It seems like they only get the message when they have no other choice but to recognize that the public eye is on them, knowing that the public disapproves of their proposed confiscations. This is what happened last year and the year before.
The "they" referred to above need to be voted out of office so that we won't have to spend so much time making the point that we don't want an unconstitutional income tax, and that budget shortfalls need to be addressed by eliminating waste before increasing taxes.
