My hat is off to you for providing for your own retirement that does not depend on Social Security. But the bad news is that you are among about 5-10% of those retiring!!! The statisics on who will be financially sound upon retirement is scary. Most baby boomers do not have a big nest egg nor decent pension, if they have either. Even if they do they most will not be able to cover the rising health care costs, that the will surely need.

I am a 'tweener, just after the boom and before the "X". I will get hit...hard. I resent that the primary beneficiaries of Social Security will not have to worry about the collapse. Primary beneficiaries? Yeah - Congress. The whole thing was a spending gimmick from the onset. It is too bad that their pensions will not be raided to offset the costs of SS and Medicare.

BTW, Medicare will collapse first, the stock market will flatten and the real estate market will go south. Hope you like cat food.
