GOT IT/READ IT/HOOKED! Latest review of FReeper Jeff Head's Novel & a Status on Volume II.

Here is the latest review of "DRAGON'S FURY - BREATH OF FIRE" by FReeper Jeff Head, the first volume in a five part series about how current events lead to World War III. The review was written by Freeper okchemyst

Got it ... Read it ... Hooked!

OK, this book (and I usually don't like political intrigue/thrillers), has got me hooked. The only thing more addictive is Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! I'm ordering #2 as quickly as it is available.

I devoured book 1, despite being interrupted by work, kids, etc. The only thing I would have liked (if I didn't notice it, bear with me) would have been a glossary of terms, especially the abbreviations/acronyms, where I could just look for a particular one.

Now, for the effect: this book scared the hell out of me. The scenario is very plausible. I've worried for a long time about the "Aztlan contingency", some nation like China capitalizing on the unrest among Hispanics and offering them the bone of getting their old territories back if they help out.

I look forward to reading all of the series. SOON.

STATUS OF VOLUME I

Dragon's Fury - Breath of Fire continues to sell well for a "self-published" work available in print as a "print on demand" book on AMAZON.COM and as either an Adobe Ebook, or a Microsoft Reader Ebook.

Of the 1.4 million printed books available on Amazon, the book ranks consitantly in the 20,000 range, and occassionally has climbed into the 10,000 range.

As an eBook (much smaller maket) the book is consistantly ranking in the top five for both the Adobe Reader "Mysteries and Thriller" section and in the Microsoft Reader "Mysteries and Thrillers" section.

STATUS OF VOLUME II

Volume II of the series, Dragon's Fury - Trodden Under is now complete as an intital draft! All chapters are finished and the work is being edited/reviewed by the editing team (see acknowledgements). I expect to have those edits back this week and to have the book in a condition to submit to the distributor, LighningSource sometime next week. I have to add the edits, add maps, diagrams, illustrations and then reformat the manuscript for printing in order to do that.

This means the book should be available for purchase on Amazon as a printed, trade paperback format and as an ebook by the end of July (I hope). I intend to run all sales through Amazon for this volume and future volumes, unless and until the work is picked up by a large publisher.

I believe readers will find Volume II even more exciting, more intrigueing and more compelling than Volume I ... at least I hope and trust it is so ... I sure think it is!

Thank you to everyone who is waiting for VOlume II for your patience, and to SO many others for your encouragement, kind words and faith.

I will be happy to add you to my list.

Please let me know what you think about the book once you get it. Your timing will be good for Volume II too.

As to the differences between Adobe and MSReader ... both work well for eBooks. MSReader tends to make a smaller document which is nice, but I believe Adobe's display/font is marginally better. Both have good features in terms of bookmarks, etc.

Still, by far for me, the printed book is my preference. It's hard to get real cozy with a laptop or desktop ... and up here in the mountains, I still don't throw the laptop in a backback for jaunts into the hills. Just wouldn't be "getting away from it all" if I did.

Oh, that gave me chills, what a beautiful image of her wedding you painted. I can't imagine what it meant to her to have you sing at her wedding. I love when happy memories are made. Congratulations, and may God bless you and yours.

I'm thinking about posting a thread on it ... but have to clear it through the wife and daughter and son-in-law.

It was so beautiful and SO representative of all we cherish and fight for ... but it was also personal and I must seek and respect their feelings before I share too much.

God bless you and yours.

Hi, Jeff. Take a day off tomorrow and have a great Fourth of July. Be independent. Get up early, cook breakfast for family, wash dishes and put the laundry in the washer. Go shoot some, and clean your own guns. A little independence goes a long way. ;-) Thanks for the ping. Best -- Dave

Thanks bro, I will have a great 4th!

Get up early, cook breakfast for family, wash dishes and put the laundry in the washer. Go shoot some, and clean your own guns.

I do pretty good on those regularly ... could probably cook breakfast more often just to slow us down so we eat together more in the AM ... with teens in summer, it's hard to coral everyone.

Best to you and yours!

Than you so much for those congrats and for His blessings!

As to the other, to the utmost of my ability ... I shall.

God's best to you and yours as well. We had the grandboy from number one daughter here for the wedding with his mom (our daughter) and dad and it added so much to the overall feeling for the event.

Two daughters wed and one to go ... then we'll see what happens with the two younger boys (17 and 13).

God bless you and yours for the anniversary of our Republic's inspired and miraculous birth.

Jeff, congrats on your daughter's marriage.

I think my problem is that I need reading glasses. I see them in stores on the shelf, but I don't know how to get the right power??? I'm halfway serious here.

"There's hope for America tonight," he declared. Referring to the education and affluence of Americans, he said our hope is not in learning or earning, but will be in turning. He cited II Chronicles 7:14

"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

An absolute and irrefutable Amen to that.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the update. No nibbles from any of the major publishers as yet?????? I wonder how Tom Clancy fared with his early works?

A safe and happy Independence Day to you and yours.

God bless.

Holy smoke, forgot to include my Congrats on the wedding! (So excited about your book LOL).

BTW, I went ahead and did it. According to Amazon there is one trade copy left, and one used (after my order).

B&N has 1 left too, if I read the page correctly, but I centered on Amazon as that is where I ordered it. I even sprung for extra charge on shipping so I'd get it Monday (a day off for me so I'm sure to get it and the snoopy neighbors don't LOL).

Again, have a great 4th!

Thanks for the congrats! It was a wonderful time. A little warm in the western cut tux for the wedding and then for two hours with the reception.dance there in the park afterards. But lots of shade, lots of cool punch and memories no amount of heat can diminish.

On the glasses ... see an optomitrist. I have to get a new prescription for my glasses soon. Been several years and wear and tear, scratches and age or demanding something new soon. LOL!

FRegrds!

Thanks for the congrats. They made a very handsome couple and my daughter was about as beautiful a young bride as has ever graced God's green earth. A clear tie with her sister of four years ago, and just a tad behind another young bride some 24 years ago.

On the book order. Wow! Glad you will get it quickly. Thanks so much and I look forward to your comments.

Have a great holiday!

Several publisher's have seen the manuscript and not picked it up, indicating that for their "house" it asn;t quite right or some such. Several others currently looking at it.

That's okay though, I figure its own continued success will meet my goals (get the good message out to as many as I can) and may well breed further success of its own. Several other series have gone that way.

In the mean time ... I just keep pluggin' along on my own, doing the best I can.
