Oh I thank you for your great wishes. I had a busy day today but got to relax with a drink at a downtown classy bar on the San Antonio riverwalk with my wonderful husband and a filling dinner. When you get this age that's all you ask for.

Last week, we were suffering with you with the heat and humidity. Yesterday it rained, and now temps are in the 80s. Looks like it will stay that way for a few days. Hooray for hoosier weather!
I hope you find some relief.

Today, no brows Gephardt (I think they are all gone now) denied that they refused to fund the SEC tho Bush said the senate was still sitting on the funding.

I am right now listening to rerun of Bush talking about homeland security to government workers. Nice applause. He gets so animated when he talks about the war--I think he is very aware that there is great danger out there and we dimwits don't have a clue as to how close our demise will be if we don't act.

Remember how the media went crazy about Chaundra Levy and then dropped the coverage like a hot potato, remember when the media took off with Enron and now no connection with Bush, remember how the media went crazy with the DUI. I think Bush is letting it die of natural causes-he doesn't prolong the argument by arguing with them.

All this mess will die out--I am worried about the market, but we must remember that before the 1990's only a few did the market and with the market bubble of the 1990 we are starting to realize that it was a hoax. Yes, the republicans are for big business but the public realizes that the republicans aren't the CEO's. Where is the Joe the drowl lieberman-- need to ask him questions re: the accounting lobbyists. Where is Fritz Holiings--do you know he was the highest receiver of Worldcom donations--do you suppose he was/ is sleeping with the corporate world?

Let us all pray for the enemy--the democrats and the media. God will listen.

Good post and I agree that W can't do it alone. We all need to let the axis of partisanship know how we feel. At the same time, the RNC needs to turn on their spin machine.

You both have my sympathy. When it gets that hot even the pool water feels warm. Is the heat supposed to break soon?

Thanks for the joke, ollie. Though I'd heard it before, you wrote it so that it caught me off guard and I laughed all over again.

**Arrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!! What WAS that! **

Remember when you got all hot and bothered over the idea of a naked Grammie in front of a window. Well...there she is again.

I think the stategy is to let the Dems rant and rave and not to respond in kind. And then, state the facts as reassonably and logically and show how wrong the Dems are. So far this has worked, although it is terribly frustrating to hear these things being said.

What needs to happen is for the RNC to be a step ahead, not behind - not always playing defense, even though there is nothing to defend.

As far as I'm concerned, I think I am "ranted and raved" out for tonight.

Nite, everyone.

I was so angry that my letters to the editor were not being printed (I thought they were well written and pithey and to the point) that I called the editorial chief to complain. After I ranted and raved and complained, he very calmly spoke to me and said he would look into it.

We must call and call and email and call and call and nag and whine and nag. I don't care if they identify me as "crazy ole woman" my point will be made.\

When Barbara Boxer came out with silly looking glasses during the grilling of some poor fat nominee I called her office to complain about the treatment of the fat lady and then made the comment of "What's with the glasses?". Barbara was not wearing them the next time on TV. Calls work.

FWI...lots of prayers for a wonderful, Christian lady. You're special in God's eyes, never forget that.

Bandolier, WELCOME to the Dose!! Most people on here (ahem!) are really really really NICE!!!! Har!

Guido, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Don't worry about the cake and stuff. I read that calories don't stick on b/days! Little tidbit I thought you'd like to remember.

Gretchen, We're gonna MISS you!!!!

McLynnan, I won't call you a dork. You were sooooo nice as to post the shops in Crawford.

Mama? Well......(I wuv you)
