Complaints about lifestyle choices etc. will be moot when the next devastating virus is airborne.

The most dangerous virus in the world is the flu virus. With the right combination of mutations a strain could develop that could kill 1/3 of the earth's population very quickly. Its only a matter of time.

I agree. Worrisomely, the sequences of some of the worst flu strains, like the 1918 flu virus, are readily available. It's not a very difficult task to alter modern flu strains.
