And you don't think the guy was planning to use his fake Social Security number to take out "his" money eventually?
Not if his social security number doesn't match up with government records, no.

I used to process new employees in a police department. I completed the I-9 and had to have driver's license and original Social Security card which I copied and sent to government. It may have required more, I can't remember. I wasn't required to verify, just supply the information.

Did you notice in the hand-wringing article that these poor people who have have entered our country illegally and falsified government documents are referred to as; "expatriates", "undocumented workers", and "Mexican Nationals"? This is usually the way the press refers to them, rarely do they call them what they are anymore- illegal aliens, or lawbreakers. Their attempt at PCing us into submission is having no effect fortunately.

"those mexicans" did take jobs away from someone, maybe not from anyone posting here, but a quick check of the unemployment office in any major city will turn up a bunch of legal Americans that would be no more difficult to train to sweep up or bus tables than the average colombian border crossser. Exactly right you are. My son just got his driver's license and insurance for him is astronomical. I assume next he wants his own car. I cannot afford the insurance or the car, so he has to get a job. Not all of us parents can afford to treat our children like spoiled brats, some kids have to work. In fact, I would not have it any other way, if he works for it, he will appreciate it more. So my son will not be sticking his nose up at any job like some posters on this forum imply. Some American kids really do work and need the jobs.

That low paying Restrauant job that "americans don't want" will wind up paying your son between $40,000 and $60,000 a year if he sticks with it and get's into managment.
He can be in the mid to high twenties in a year or less if he's polite, fast, makes good decisions and has a good attitude.
These aren't all throwaway jobs we are talking about here.. despite claims to to the contrary.

THESE PARASITES ARE TAKING JOBS AWAY FROM AMERICAN CITIZENS WHO NEED THEM. SEND ALL THESE MF-ING ILLEGAL ALIENS BACK TO MEXICO.

How about the states like TN that allow a driver's license for them?

You've got that right. Our town was small so my son had to work at United Supermarket bagging groceries and later at a fast food to help pay for his car to drive to a community college in a nearby town while we tried to scrape enough money together to pay his tuition, healthcare and other support. He made minimum wage, but needed it! And he was a good worker, intelligent and charming, and LEGAL.

I have been working there since 1989. Do I still have to fill out this I-9 form?

Can someone please explain to me why are we giving up some of our liberties and freedom !!.when it was foreignors that done this terrorist act.
It seems to me that we would cut off all Visa's and close our boarders.
And let the foreignors pay the price for this terrorists act on America
,NOT AMERICAN

How about the states like TN that allow a driver's license for them? You would think that after all the bad press after 9-11 that they would of changed this practice. Whatever happened to the investigation of the DMV employee who was selling license's to Arab illegals and was found fried to a crisp in her car?

State issued DL and a SS card are all you need.
(They also accept other arcane combinations of documents, but I forget which ones right now.)

Don't be too pleased. A portion of the money they were earning is going into your social security...and a portion of our tax dollars goes to provide them with free medical care and other benefits
Out here in the west most of the drug smuggling is done by mexicans. In looking at the arrest reports in my local newspaper, most of the people getting arrested are mexicans. They cost us much, much more than they ever produce. I'll take my chances with a bunch of unemployed mexicans running around the US. They are ILLEGAL aliens and need to be deported with no delays. In regard to resturant jobs, let american citizens decide if they want to work in resturants. Jobs are hard to come by these days.
To: Tancredo Fan
Oh my God!
Might be deported back to his country of citizenship?
How inhumane!
How utterly mean-spirited!
Wow.

I hear you and agree 100%. Now if we could only get Uncle Sam to as well.

yes, all american employers have to do is look at the documents, many employers save a photo-copy too so they can show they thought it was a real document. The employees who are illegal need only purchase illegal documents on the black market. The mexican illegals can purchase documents very easily. I've seen potential employees in an office unable to get hired because they didn't have the docs, then they ask questions carefully about what docs they need, then they leave, then they come back 2 hours later with lots of brand new docs, then they have to look at their brand new driver's license to see what their name is. Everyone knows it is a scam and it just goes on. If we wanted to stop the scam, then we'd require employers to verify the validity of the document by some kind of a computer check, just as a credit card company requires that you check over a modem at point of sale to see that the credit card is real before you authorize a sale through the credit card. Reagan wanted to do that, but the other politicians in Washington simply won't allow it. In other words, the politicians are in on the scam. The americans overwhelmingly want to end illegal immigration, their will is ignored even in their own nation by the authorities that they themselves elected.
