Close attention? No, not at all. We had the debacle with the fallen EWAC aircraft, but barring that, I am honestly unaware of what the Chinese may be up to. They are the other big kid on the block besides ourselves in terms of size of army that they can field. They dont have a navy that can compete with our own. I know that they let Hong Kong continue to function in much the same way it did while it was in British controll. That tells me that they are looking for money. They are vulnerable to our pop culture. They know it to. I know that the drug of choice in China is not opiates anymore but rather amphetamines if that tells us anything. I know that in conventional warfare that they could prove to be a nightmare on land. However, I must admit a need for remedial John Birch lessons as I do not recall them being discussed much from my days of vigilance on the red scare and the one world government threats of the U.N. the Council on Foreign Relations and other matters Skull and Bones related.

The last time I was in a class room at a college or university was in the fall of 94. I ran out of money and had to go to work. Imagine that.

As far as the Cold War.. is it over. Probably not entirely, but it is a lot more cold when stacked up against the more popular war.

While I have not sat in on a college class in a LONG time (!), I can only imagine since it was absolutely COMMUNIST/SOCIALIST when I went to university in the 80's...
