In light of the recent rash of child abductions, and the frustration we all feel. I wanted to post this website.
We have nothing to do with it.. we just heard about it on the Tom Sullivan show today. I checked it out, and it looks like a great thing.
A child can press simultaneously two buttons for 3 seconds and summon 911. But if you think your child could abuse that function, you can turn it off.
Otherwise, if your child ends up missing, you can activate it. It is water-proof, and can't be cut off. There is a key for putting it on, and taking it off.
It comes in blue, and purple.
If I could afford it, I would buy it for every single one of my grandchildren. Just thought some would like to know this is out there.
God Bless,.. Grandma and Grandpa Vets.

I heard of a case where a girl was snatched in broad daylight and when they found the spot where she was snatched they picked up the beeping device that the girl was given to "protect" her from harm and it was still beeping.

I went to the site and found the price. A little steep. $399 to start, plus a monthly fee.

$400. Pretty cool.
To: Nachum
It is at the bottom of the page.. I think it was pricey.. like 400.00 or something per.. and then a monthly fee. (Like 20 or 24 dollars a month). Like I said.. If I could afford it I would buy one for each of my grandchildren in a heartbeat.
To: Carolina
Thanks for posting the graphics Carolina.. that helps a ton!!
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
They were talking about it on the news tonight, seems like a good idea.
How are you.
To: Slyfox
But this is locked on..and can't even be CUT OFF. So hopefully this is made better. It is waterproof too.
If it would help us locate a child before they could torture them like little Samantha.. then I'm all for it.
I wonder what the little girl you mentioned was wearing?

What do they cost?Appr $400 plus monthly fee.

Plus.. we can thank our wonderful moderators here,..as I hadn't posted this right :o)
I promise to get a note off to you really soon!!!
To: Howlin
HEY!!! Thanks for the "kids" bump friend. I don't have a ping list..and always pray that a bunch will see things like this!!! Good to see YOU!!
To: Slyfox
I also heard today, that they are adjustable and lock where you tighten them. That is beneficial too. Perhaps then it won't fall off, or get pulled off in a scuffle.
To: Brad's Gramma; billbears
Did you see this site for bracelets for kids?
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
Thanks for the graphics too. You and another freeper were posting it at about the same time I think :o)
It you have a ping list.. could you ping this? Thanks if you can.
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
They should've built a Gameboy platform into it.
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
I wonder what the little girl you mentioned was wearing? It was different, it was not a GPS thing, but it was something that would let out a shrill sound when it was activated. I think these creeps would figure out a way to disarm a locator.

Ping a ling. Doopty doop.

For once I agree with the NOW crowd. I believe that all ex utero ex presidents with the name Bubba Xlintoon are a fetus . I would consider it a great honor to stick a tube into the base of his skull and suck out whatever slime resides there!
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
Yeah, baby!
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
OK. This is something.
Something better would be to execute child-murderers in public, on TV, by burning or some other messy method.
Think 'deterrance'.
And no recidivism.

I love this one too!!! Bump for the evening.. nite all!!
God Bless ALL the precious children!!!
To: monkeyshine
Not a bad idea!! But maybe too many things and it would interfere with the GPS? I dunno.. but we have to do something so no more children like Samantha get hurt.
To: Brad's Gramma
Perhaps some startup cash could be found, and if a company wasn't looking to get rich on the thing it might be sold at a reasonable price. Just thinking.

Thanks for the bump all..
And, a GRANDMA BUMP and will bump more tomorrow!!! :o)
To: Bahbah
I don't like the price either.. I wish it was cheaper.. thats for sure!! IF it was, there would be 16 new purchases from these grandparents for our grandchildren.
I'd like to see them give a family package.. and a monthly rate for monitoring. Like your home alarms. I better go look and see if I can e-mail them tomorrow. They could really get this thing off the ground, and sell more if they made them more accessible.
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
Excellent idea. Someone once said it would be great to make money doing good. His only problem was, he wanted a lot of money. My ideal would be a business that did a good thing and paid the people who put out the product a living wage. Call me crazy.

To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
:-)
To: Brad's Gramma
LOL. I'd need to get the license to Gameboy and the license to GPS. Maybe I can sell the idea to the Nintendo people.
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
This is a good start, but a normal GPS locator is a receiver that tells you your position.
This device HAS to be a transmitter that transmits data after it has received loaction data from the GPS satellite system.
Being a transmitter you now have a host of other issues that could make this thing useless...and defeatable. But it's a good start. Toss in a little deterence like public beheadings of convicted child molesters and you've got one hell of a program.
Just 2 cents from a radio head.
To: Bloody Sam Roberts
There were some stories a while back about wealthy Hollywood types having dental implants put in childrens teeth to help locate them in a kidnap situation. Not sure if this is the same thing though.

What is to stop a perp from just chopping off the wrist, bracelet and all?.....they take these kids with the intention of killin them so having to chop here or there surely won't stop them I don't think......false security.
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
First, it can be cut off I am sure..
Believe me, I cut through the suspension on my neighbors corvette the other day (with his approval) and it can definately be cut off.
It might be handier to carry it in a pocket or a shoe where it is hidden.
These pedophiles would surely be aware of such a device and would toss it immediately.

But its kinda like the theory on car alarms. Its not foolproof, but criminals are opportunists, so they'll move along to a less protected target/victim. The raised level of difficulty increases the level of deterrence.
To: Diddle E. Squat
I think it should be more stealthy..
So they don't know you are on to them till they are looking down the barrel of a gun.

Another excuse for irresponsible parents. You can not expect kids to walk around with transmitters. And surely what good would the thing be if it were turned off. People with children are responsible for the safety of those children. Too many parents are giving to much leash to their kids. Mainly for the parents own wish for freedom from the responsiblity of over seeing the kids activity. Kids can not raise kids. These recent tragedies are certainly grave acts of some very inhumane-being. But it is my opinion that electronic leashes are not the answers for the safe upbringing and care of little children. Parents need to be present with a child more today than at any time in the past. My condolences to any parent who has so tragically lost their little love ones.
To: Vets_Husband_and_Wife
How about ones for the errant, irresponsible parents who are off somewhere smoking crack or having their hair done, and the list goes on and on...
Oh, I forgot, the dems who are building an American Nationalist-Socidalist Party already have that in the platform for 2004.
Think it's a joke?

I went to read the FAQs.
Found this:
Will there be a "family plan" where a plans locates can be used for more than one child/wearer?
This program is not currently available but we are evaluating programs for future implementation.
