If the Bush approval rating continues at its very high level, this might be an opportune time for him to try and shake up the Democratic party, something I have every confidence he could do.

I am a bit bemused that an article could consider him a serious candidate, though. He's not; he has no chance of victory. But if for some reason the 2004 election got close, he could be the margin of victory for the Republicans.

No, but he will definitely have an effect on who is the nominee. First of all, he is going to make those Demmycrat candidates sweat bigtime during the debates (something I am looking forward to see) and, unlike regular candidates, he will go into the Demmycrat convention with a solid block of candidates pledged to him and will swing to whatever candidate he recommends. Whoever is the Demmycrat nominee will have to publicly kiss Sharpton's big butt. This is why I suspect Hillary is trying to get Sharpton out of the running now. I wouldn't be surprised if she was behind the release of this video.
