Zahn vs. raccoon: It's close /PAGE SIX

WHEN Paula Zahn left Fox News Channel last September for CNN and a salary estimated as high as $4 million, FNC chief Roger Ailes said he wouldn't miss her. "A dead raccoon could get higher ratings," were his exact words. Now, 10 months later, a Fox flack chortles, "She's doing less than a dead raccoon." CNN's "American Morning with Paula Zahn" has drawn an average of 439,000 viewers since July 1, while "Fox & Friends" has had 714,000 viewers. That's 63 percent more audience for the FNC show featuring E.D. Donahey, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade. "Her producers have tried everything - and everybody - to get her ratings up," said an insider. Jack Cafferty, Anderson Cooper, Bill Hemmer, Bill Bennett, Arthel Neville and Leon Harris have all lent a hand. "CNN is checking to see if Larry King can get up that early," joked our source. But CNN's Christa Robinson, who preferred to compare Zahn's numbers to those of a year earlier, said, "We couldn't be happier with Paula Zahn. The ratings are up 200 percent among 18-to-34- year-olds, with more than twice as many viewers overall. She's the single highest area of growth on our network."

Oh, wow, up that much from last year?? I'm so impressed.

That's so nice for such an absolute dolt as Paula. What the hell were they running last year? Cartoons? Infomercials?

I am so happy to see CNN happy about getting their butt kicked by Fox, and paying big bucks in the process.

If she did it in the nude, it might go up another 1%.

Actually, this very morning there is a dead raccoon in front of my house.

Observing traffic, a quick "poll" shows more than 90% of the drivers going by are looking at it!

I believe it actually IS getting better ratings! Of course, it IS a big handsome specimen with a bushy tail.

These three writers from the Post must not watch FOX & FRIENDS to know that it is now E.D.'s new married name is Hill.

I not only enjoy FOX but I love hearing about CNN's downfall.

Now that the news is out that E.D. is pregnant, it's even more important to emphasize her MARRIED name.

The Emmy Award nominations for NEWS were anounce yesterday.
There is NO DOUBT that a gaggle of honking geese liberals, wanting to reward their leftist pals are on the nomination committe. From the MOST liberal to the least, PBS got the most nominations, while Fox News received none. I believe that PBS and CNN should not be allowed for consideration, being that they are divisions of the DNC.
