Ok, I'll tell you. Last year, I was forced off of my residence by city swat teams, state and local police pointing semi-automatic weapons at me, with no search warrant, and no probable or reasonable cause, based upon a "tip" by an unidentified female victim who claimed to be "robbed" by some fellow nearby my residence. They forced me to draw a floor plan of the residence and unreasonably and unlawfully detained me for up to 9 hours in a squad car. During that time, the residence was heavily teargassed and it became unlivable for three and one half weeks after that. After the incident, I demanded answers and found out that the police report was falsified and the female so-called "victim" is nowhere to be found and the police have refused to disclose the identity of this "victim". Even upon my referencing the state public records act to the police legal discovery section and also requesting under the FOIA request to the FBI they also refused to answer. I was told by people living in the residence of mine that a few weeks prior to the incident, an unidentified individual had been snooping about trying to find who lives in my residence.
How would you like to experience what I went through by an unidentified "tip" which results in you being residentially displaced for weeks? Still think TIPS is a great idea? I think its nuts!!!!!!! It is a gross violation of one's due process and right to confront witnesses who "tip" against them. This is America we live in....not the stinking Soviet Union.
