I can't figure out how come I like this president so much

Presentation my friend, it's all in how they present him. They must be doing a great job cause I can't help but like him on a personal level as well and I don't like anyone.

"I have no idea how Condo complexes are set up, but regardless I stand by my earlier post. Take your tinfoil head off. This is ridiculous."

This is ridiculous? Yes history has been ridiculous. Some people never learn what history has taught them. I guess you will be one of those who volunteers to spy on others. Good Luck.

I think we all understand that, but WELFARE was only supposed to help those who were down-and-out temporarily in the beginning...Now, it's a career for those who know how to fill out the paperwork...

This establishes not only the framework, but the mindset for a bunch of nosy neighbors who think that because they are registered with Uncle Sam, they have authority to do all sorts of invasive and illegal things.

I'm very afraid this is the beginning of the end. Bin Laden may have won.

Ashcroft to Congress: "I don't give a damn about what the US Constitution says. The US Justice Dept is above the law. Due to the ongoing war on terrorism, the Consitition is now suspended until further notice."

Are you a Domestic Terrorist?

* Do you consider yourself to be a "defender" of the U.S. Constitution against the federal government and the UN?

* Have you ever asked an officer why you have been pulled over?

* Do you make numerous references to the U.S. Constitution?

* Do you believe in animal rights?

* Are you a lone individual?

!! CAUTION !!
If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, the FBI says
you fit the profile of a domestic terrorist.

"If you encounter any of the following,
Call the Joint Terrorism Task Force"

- Phoenix FBI Information Sheet regarding Domestic Terrorism (.pdf)

According to the information sheet (available in .pdf format, above) created by the Phoenix, AZ, FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, these situations could get you branded as a potential domestic terrorist. This sheet was designed to "assist uniformed patrol officers in identifying potential domestic terrorism."

How does this create warrantless searches?

A law enforcement officer cannot enter a private home or private property without a warrant or at least some kind of probable cause. Service personnel can, and encouraging them to report suspicious activity to authorities while on private property amounts to a de facto warrantless search. Now, someone said yesterday that the DOJ altered the TIPS program to only request reporting of activity on public property - but I wonder if they would reject a tip sent about something seen on private property, or regarding suspicious activity other than potential terrorism. Remember that with government, what often starts with something "reasonable" is often allowed to creep over time into something unacceptable - ranging from Social Security number abuse to the shift in seat belt enforcement from supplemental to primary.

That's the thing. They have ignored Congress. That's the same thing as ignoring the voice of the people, since the people elect the members of Congress. They have, by this action, ripped one third of the government out of the policy-making process. Congress will eventually only exist to rubber-stamp the executive branch's opinions.

BTW, I've been reading the USA Freedom Corps' policy book. It states that the Citizen's Council (ruling body of the Citizen's Corps) will be chaired by the President. The Councils will be coordinated with support from FEMA. I remember reading long ago (abt the year 2000) on FR about Clinton and how worried some members of this group were about some executive orders Clinton had issued concerning FEMA, the Attorney General, and "anti-terrorism". I also remember someone noticing that J. Ashcroft never repealed them.

Anyone else remember this?

I remember that. I also remember that we are currently (and have been for some time) in a national state of emergency which is where the pres and his EO's get their authority.

Congress should pound these usurpers into the dirt for taking the end-around route here. Since when do non-elected DOJ creeps have that authority?

Since Congress gives it to them. My memory may be off, but if I remember correctly, Augustus Ceasar was allowed by the Senate to become Emporer of Rome.

This stinks. Anyone in Congress who's trying to fight this needs our support. This program is being implemented too quickly. Haven't figured out yet what to do beyond that. Anyone got any suggestions?

"Wrong, I have better things to do with my life."

What's that? Not understand history, tell me you would not do something like this and just blindly support it? I am not sure which of the three is worse.

I'll say this even though I'll be told to put on a tinfoil hat I'm sure... Doesn't matter really who's in office... the same people run the country.

Watching the same agenda continue from Clinton (the sicko) right into baby Bush (who I actually like for some reason) ought to make it quite evident.

So whoever comes in next... the agenda marches on... Scary? Yes...

Agreed. We might as well call it the Republocratic Party. A part of me thinks these guys have secret meetings where they decide what they are going to argue about next, so as to keep up the ruse that we actually have two parties in America. But in the end, they are all working for their own selfish interests.

Whats sad is that for the very first time in my life, Canada is not looking so bad. I hope this feeling passes...I love this country too much to give up hope just yet...
