The United States of America is a fascistic police state. In a real "fascistic police state," what happens to those who denounce the state?
In other words, why haven't THEY dragged Mr. Madden off to some Dachau?

In other words, why haven't THEY dragged Mr. Madden off to some Dachau? Because he doesn't believe his own BS. He just knows that there are a few that do and he feeds them their red meat.

In other words, why haven't THEY dragged Mr. Madden off to some Dachau? Government quotas. Dragging Mr. Madden away in the night would reduce the number of hyperventilating bloggers available to the public below the Congressionally mandated level. This is why Mr. Madden quotes Chicago lyrics as though they were both weighty and relevant - he knows that if he falls below the statutory minimum ridiculousness level, he'll be vulnerable to the stormtroopers.

How can there be government censorship when this jerk is still free to spot off at the mouth?

Don't be in such a hurry. Even Hitler needed 3-4 years before passing the Nuremburg laws on citizenship...

Don't be in such a hurry. Even Hitler needed 3-4 years before passing the Nuremburg laws on citizenship...I won't try to stand in your way, Mme. de Winter. If it makes life seem more exciting, by all means imagine America -- sorry, Amerika -- as the Third Reich.

Even Hitler needed 3-4 years before passing the Nuremburg laws on citizenship... Then Bush had better hurry huh? He only has 2 years. Right?

I'm sorry if my cynical sense of humor offends you. However I don't like the trends I'm seeing in this great country of ours! First the Patriot Act voted in without being read by congress. Operation Tips now having summer camps. The Posse Comitatus Act being reviewed to let the military have police powers. Terror alerts that prove to be fruitless.
All of this in the last 10 months. At this pace where will we be in 2 years?
To: Sir Gawain
This entire piece is just one more Libertarian's rant over the fact that his party can't break 500,000 votes in a national election. Undoubtedly, the country is split right now. About a third of the country would like a government that would be closer to what Mr. Madden desires, but less than half a percent want one that is exactly what he wants. About a third of the country wants a Clintonist government. The other third is too uninformed and apathetic to know or care what we have or where we're going. Because we are split this way, we don't make progress on anything. Even if we were making progress, he would be unhappy because we aren't going to have the government that he wants. We won't have that government because no one wants it.

Oh, please. I sense so MUCH delusion, so much sleeping, so much Kool-Aid drinking.

Incremental. Are you saying that what you see doesn't indicate that World Government is headed to America, and that examples of a police state are on the way?
To: Madame de Winter
You have a right to question such things. They're unconstitutional, anti-American, and represent an out of control government.
To: FreedomFriend
They're unconstitutional, What are "they"?
To: max61
Not yet, but we do have a good start on a Gulag system.Where? Tell us about it.
