Sorry. Obsessive compulsive personality. Also though, since Freepers tend to be much smarter than average, we might as well point out each other's oversights. Hope you weren't annoyed.

True. And a supreme irony is that devil-worshippers expect
mercy from the devil. He'll probably roast them on the hottest spit and laugh at their stupidity.
As an unknown Freeper said here a few years ago (I wish I knew who):
"Evil is the ultimate stupidity."

Well, in fairness, most fundamentalist Christians have about the same feeling in their religion
Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
The difference is that they let the higher power make the judgement and extract
the penalty.
It's just more efficient that way.
A philosophy or religion has to kill people in order to manintain group cohesion
ain't doing a good job of competing in the free marketplace of ideas.

Hope you weren't annoyed Not at all. Quite the contrary, in fact. I delight in good language, used well, and correctly; errors (which I admit to making far too often!) can be a jarring distraction to the reader. For that reason, constructive criticism such as yours is welcome.

Not sure they'd take offense with the second one. Better try again.

The benefit of 911 is that maybe - just maybe - there is a chance that people will open their eyes and see the lie. Unfortunately, this probably won't happen unless the Islamists get their act back together real well.
After all, they were at war with us for 10 years and we didn't even notice. They got one lucky sucker punch in and have for the most part been running away since.
They just aren't enough of a serious threat to bring about an end to this nonsense.
I could be wrong, but since that would involve their making more successful major attacks, I hope I'm not. Although a side effect of those attacks would be the end of PC and the destruction of the attackers, I'm not sure I want to pay that price.

Folks...the time for the 21st century Crusades is almost upon us. Islam is declaring war on Christianity, Judaism and all of that it calls infidels. Be armed and be ready.

Islam is declaring war on Christianity, Judaism and all of that it calls infidels. You are quite correct. However, before we get too worried, I suggest we compare the military potential of the two groupings.
All Muslim countries together don't have 1/10th the military power of the US alone, and that's leaving nukes out of the equation.
They don't even produce enough food to feed their own people, and they produce essentially none of the weaponry required to fight a modern war.
Before we get too upset, let's recognize that Islamist forces can be no more than an irritant, militarily speaking. If they get really successful, perhaps managing to acquire and use a nuke or two, the only long-term result would be the destruction and/or occupation of their countries' only resources, the oilfields.

You are also quite correct in your post, however, the same could have been said regarding the "police action" in Viet Nam. There was absolutly no reason that we could have lost the war as far as battle field strength and numbers go. Yet the will of the Viet Cong was to win at any cost. Here we have something almost similar. We want to stop them from killing other innocent people, while they want to bring the world to Allah. Ours is a short term goal, theirs is prophecy. There will be be no end to this war, unless there are generations of people who will never in their lives hear or understand the words "Koran" or "Allah".

The Viet Cong were no threat whatsoever to America, except in a potential domino theory sense. All they wanted was for America to go away and let them oppress their own people in peace.
The Islamists want to kill US, all of us if possible. I really don't think we'll get tired of not being killed and quit, as we did in Vietnam. And if we do, they'll make the big mistake of reminding us they're at war with us.
This will continue until we decide to rouse ourselves enough to clean their clock. Or possibly until moderate Muslims are able to control their insane brethren, but I'm not counting on that.
If the US armed forces were to mysteriously disappear tomorrow, the Islamists still couldn't conquer the US, as the weaponry in private hands would be plenty to repel an invasion.
I've yet to have one single person point out to me exactly what an Islamist victory would look like and how it would come about. Care to try?

I an afraid I can't describe a Islamic victory for you.I shudder at the thought that their society would be be an image of what existed under the Taliban, or even what was done after the fall of the Shah in Iran. I just can't picture that as being the goal of a rational people.
BTW, agree wholeheartedly with your other comments.

Please note that I referred to an Islamist victory, rather than an Islamic one.
Islamists are perhaps better described as Islamo-Fascists.
Muslims, in general, are an extremely diverse group of over a billion people. It is in our best interest to encourage people to identify with the second group, not the first. (Because we're probably going to have kill most of the Islamists.)

I did miss that distinction, and thanks for pointing it out. I will go back to my original point that as long as the Koran exists, there will always a group of people such that you describe. It is a psuedo-warrior religion that will always have a radical fundimentalist faction.
