That's a good point. I'm not in that district, so I can't vote for any of them - but there's a black Republican lady running that I think could go up against McKinney and/or Majette....
As far as I know, none of the Republicans running is black. In addition, in that district, a Republican doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning in November, period.
McKinney is not only an embarrassment, she is potentially someone who is irresponsible as Leahy in terms of leaking confidential information. So given that choice, yes, I'd sooner take a less insane Democrat over McKinney any day.
Try Catherine Davis.
I'm very happy to see here there - needless to say, though, she hasn't got a snowball's chance of winning against McKinney, and just as doubtful a chance against Majette. If we were dealing with a different district; a different electorate, I'd might feel otherwise, but not in the 4th as it's presently composed.
Because she's in a secure district, which may return her (over a republican) for years. And she sit's on the International Relations and Armed Services committees, where she builds seniority as we speak. Let another Dem start from zero.
While we are at it, do you know why Sandra Feldman wants Sami Al-Arian back in his South Florida classroom? The guy raised money for Hamas for crying out loud. Why does a good Democrat like Sandra want him teaching? Makes sense to me, I the head of the NEA (JEW) supports keeping the Arab guy in his job, Id run out and vote for McKinney, just so I could be sure to have a hater of America on the Armed Services Committee. Of course, having someone whos anti Israel on International Relations sounds good to you, doesnt it. Worth screwing the country. Thats why you support her. The picture, from World Conference Against Racism, the US didnt go, what do you think, cluster bomb or food ration? America really sucks to do something like that, doesnt it. Yeah, go McKinney.

The progressive/green/Naderite wing of the Democrat party knows. And so do Republicans. On May 22, 2001, Bush signed an executive Order banning the importation of "blood diamonds" originating from the RUF in Sierra Leone That was a shot over the bow of Tempelsman and the Israeli smugglers such as Col Yair Klein and Leonid Minin who supplied cutters in Belgium and Tel Aviv (Al Qaeda & Hezbollah were involved in this trade too).
There is a large fight going on in the Democrat party between the DLC and the progressives. The Jewish Democrats after McKinney are DLC types. The progressives broke away in 2000 to vote for Nader.
We should encourge this split, not help the DLC unseat the minority which causes them so much pain.
Didn't see any Democrats helping us recall McCain, did we?
The forum McKinney gave which enraged the DLC is on her website here:
Covert Action in Africa: A Smoking Gun in Washington, D.C.
There are people conning conservatives on FR. Check out THIS THREAD and you will see. Some of the same people here who are making the ridiculous charge that I support McKinney are trying to shut down a discussion of Democrats donors such as Marc Rich being involved in the Olympic cheating scandal.
In 2000, McKinney won 60 to 40. I say fight for the seat. Don't knock out McKinney and get a Democrat running who will win in a landslide. Make Democrats squirm.
Make Jewish Democrats put their money behind the GOP challenger (isn't there a HUGE shift to the GOP among Jews?)
McKinney is a pariah in the party. If she wins, they won't give her squat. And that is great for Republicans. It will cause friction everyday she is in congress. And who knows, we might pick up a seat if that sea change in the Jewish vote is really occurring (the vote means little but the PR and the $$ means everything).
Many on this forum are telling freepers everyday how Jews they know are coming over to the GOP in droves. Let them prove it. Let them back McKinney's GOP challenger.
;-)
Believe me, I see the possible advantages of this strategy. But we're just going to have to use it on someone else, some other time. It's personal with me. I have wanted McKinney's head since she wrote that letter to the Saudi Prince last fall. And I must have it, Larry.
Surely the Democrats have another embarassing thorn in their side that we can work to keep IN office. But I gotta have McKinney.
Let them back McKinney's GOP challenger.
They could also back Majette's GOP challenger as far as I'm concerned, in the general election. I want McKinney knocked out in the primary. That way I can hear her grieve for a few months longer.
Strange friends you have, Larry Lied/Voegelin, strange friends indeed. Republicans? Naw. Greenies and Commies--you bet.
Not being in the district, I won't have a say in it anyway, but I'd like to see Davis as the GOP candidate, because I think she's the only one who'd have any chance at all.
That being said, if the choice is between McKinney & Majette only, for Intelligence Committee reasons, I'd prefer to see Majette win, and for embarrassing the Dems, I'd rather see McKinney.
I'm still thinking that the GOP is missing a big chance in Georgia though--there have been several state issues over the past several years, redistricting being the latest, which rural Republicans and urban black Democrats have teamed up on, saying that the "Good Ol' Boy" white Democrats have ignored their issues. Seems to me there's an opportunity there....
