It seems clear enough that Hamas is in league with Iraq. Every time it looks like Bush is about to turn his attention to Iraq, Hamas sends another kid onto a bus, or into a restrurant, or to a square to blow up himself and somebody in Israel. There is no credible reason for the timing other than Saddam is in cahoots with this crowd to keep the USA stirred up about something else besides atomic weapons in Iraq.

We need to send bombers to Iran and on the way, drop a few on some of the Hamas followers.

This used to be a concern to me as well, but I no longer consider it. We can't be hesitant to eliminate evil because we are afraid more (and possibly greater) evil will replace it. If the house of Saud is thrown out and an even more anti-American regime takes over, so be it.

It could actually help the situation by making the picture clearer for everyone..

"Bush must retaliate against Hamas soon and in a dramatic fashion."

That would mean attacking Iran.

Let me preface with this: I think Ronald Reagan was the greatest president that the U.S. has EVER had. How did Ronald Reagan respond when the marine barracks were bombed in Beirut?

It certainly is, but thankfully the character of their coming revolution will be the exact opposite of the one in 1979. Therefore, I'm ambivalent about what to do about Iran. Should we just let events play themselves out, or should we help out the reformers (of which their are many millions) by taking out the Mullahs for them. After we take out Saddam, the situation will be a lot more clear.

reagan didn't, and bush never will. we are passive even after khobar, the cole,the embassy bombings in africa and pakistan, WTC 1, WTC 2 and whatever islam chooses to send our way. however, i do wonder why the obsession with iraq rather than iran, syria and saudi arabia. we ALL know that vile trio has financed and sheltered terorist groups for decades.

The Israelis need ask each of their Palestinian citizens to publicly (in front of their bretheren) condemn and denounce the terror and the terrorist orginizations and expell those who won't make this public statement.

The insane Wahabbists are a disease that Saudis themselves have bred (through their anti-Israel and anti-American "educational" cirricula).

We should destroy the Saudi rulers because they promote an anti-American and anti-Israel cirricula? Maybe we should deal with our own anti-american school cirriculums first.

As you probably know, they had little choice in the matter if they wanted to stay in power. If there's no external enemy for their Jihadist populace to obsess over, they'd inevitably turn their attention to their own leaders, and the fact the .00001% live in obsene luxury while the rest live in abject poverty. Concocting a "Great Satan" was the House of Saud's survival mechanism, nothing more. So, my view is that the longer we wait to destroy the Saudis, the more dangerous the Jihadist beast will become. My prediction: This fall, Iraq. Next fall, Saudi Arabia.

Who will replace the current Saudi rulers? How will they deal with the insane Wahabbists?

I say, deal with each terrorist group and then tell the Saudi rulers to control the Wahhabs when all of the organized terror groups are eradicated.

Remember, OBL wanted to overthrow the government of Saudi Arabia. Remember also that we still tell the Sauds what to do.

So Saudi Arabia is in your vile trio list ahead of Iraq. Specifically why?

BTW, an answer of "we all know" is not an answer.

1) Notify the Israeli's of our intention to bomb Gaza and Southern Lebanon where Hamas has it's strongholds;
2)Carpet bomb Gaza;
3)Carpet bomb Southern Lebanon.

It's becoming increasingly clear that the only way to deal with radical Islam in general and Wahabbitsts in particular is to launch an all-out war overthrowing every last regional dictatorship, annex the Persian Gulf oil fields, establish a large and permanent military presence (which would serve both as a desert warfare training ground and a safeguard against any future Islamist WMD programs), install American puppet regimes, and completely change their educational systems by disallowing the teaching of radical Islam.

(My Bold)

So you want to overthrow the Saudi dictatorship and replace it with a puppet regime (another dictatorship)?

I have no trouble with maintaining a puppet regime in S.A., but the question is why replace the current puppet regime with a new one? The Saudi rulers will fit this discription, once the organized terror groups are removed from the region.

The new (puppet) regime would be just a temporary one, until we successfully rid the area of its radical elements. Granted, this would take some time, but it would still be temporary. Our control of the oil fields would prevent the new puppets from financing terror, and appeasing the Jihadists. When our mission is complete, the Wahabbis are out, and radical Islam is all but a forgotten memory, then we'd set them up with free elections and leave. Perhaps we could even give them back the oil fields. Perhaps.

Hamas must all die if we are to secure and preserve the lives of ourselves and our loved ones.

And members of Hamas can be identified how? Do they all wear Black Crescent Moons on their backs for easy targeting? Some here have suggested carpet bombing but that will do little other than encourage future generations of little vipers. If the Israelis havent been able to eliminate this threat after many years, how are we going to be any more effective from 6000 miles away and being distracted with Afghanistan and Iraq?

After Sadam gets taken out six months from now, Iran will fall. The mullahs will be overthrown once the younger Iranians see a move towards democracy and modernism in their neighbor Iraq. With the mullahs gone, Hamas and other terrorist organizations in Iran will find that they are now pariahs. However, if the US were to do something really stupid like carpet bomb the gaza strip, then the Iranian youth might decide we are no longer worth emulating.

Hi Mark......I'm still around. This will make or break Bush. My hope for his taking action is dwindling down to 'furious talk and distressing news'.

The Detroit News is going to get long screeds about Hamas, talking about how wonderful Hamas' political and humanitarian wings are & not mentioning a word about how many Israelis and Americans they've blown up.

I just wonder if the letter writers will sign their real names.

Iraq is a waste of time... and planning for it is too. Go for the jugular. Do it today.

Clinton never checked with congress when he bombed 4 yr olds out of their beds in Kosovo. Bush does not have to have permission to fight for a brave people that are allies in the war on terror. I am tired of these politicians trying to pretend that we believe them when they say 'peace is possible'. It is possible.......when evil has been destroyed.
