I meant Gov Bush is receiving political support by Puerto Rican leaders of two parties: Dem and GOP! Of course! :)

Well, caltrop, the Dem Primary approaches closer and closer each day...and, I think time has run out for what's his name - the guy who couldn't beat Reno but thought he could beat Jeb. Oh well! :)

LOL...as for Reno... well, whatever you want it to mean! Let's face it - she is going to go down in history as the biggest loser in a gov race ever....

Janet Reno is still looking for some kind of serious support from within the ranks of Democrats, Hispanic or otherwise. For sure she isn't getting much monetary assistance.

WAY TO GO JEB & SUMMER! Great news D mayors are endorsing Jeb. The Dem Florida Mayors must have more sense than the D mayors in most of the rest of the country. You people just don't know how lucky you are to have JEB.

Right now my computer is still in the shop and my freepmail inbox is overflowing

I have just gotten my computer out of the shop after a couple of weeks, and can 'feel your pain'. Now that we are about to enter the homestretch in the campaign, I hope that you will have your machine functioning!!

Great article on the Hispanic support for Jeb, he is leading the GOP in the direction it needs to go, finding support among those who share are basic values.

BTTT. I just read this in the St. Pete X. I wonder if Jeb spoke Puerto Rican at his meeting. When I worked at an insurance company, we had customer service staff who spoke Spanish and some employees spoke Puerto Rican.

You're right - she can not unite the Dem base at all. In fact, in a recent poll, almost 30% of registered Dem FL voters polled said they intend to vote for Gov Bush in Nov.

For sure she isn't getting much monetary assistance.

Nor are the other Dem candidates, when you think about how much Gov Bush has managed to raise in his fundraising efforts -- and, most of his fundraising took place IN Florida.

Thanks for your thought-provoking post, alloysteel! :)

TatieBug, Great to hear from you! These mayors are actually Dem (and GOP) Puerto Rican mayors in Puerto Rico - but, they will be active here, in the FL communities, helping to get out the vote from FL Puerto Rican voters -- and, advising them to vote for JEB! And, yes - SOME people here know how lucky we are to have Gov. Bush! That's why he's about to win this Nov race in a landslide! :)!

Great article on the Hispanic support for Jeb, he is leading the GOP in the direction it needs to go, finding support among those who share our basic values.

Thanks, LCS! His campaign really seems to have so much momentum - getting this support from the non-Cuban Hispanic community and others. Also, Gov. Bush was recently endorsed by (get ready): HEALTH CARE WORKERS! [Now, I thought everyone in the health field is supposed to hate the GOP - what happened with that?]

I just love it that Gov Bush is able to appeal to so many different kinds of people. It's really exciting when so many people get involved!

And, remember: If Gov Bush gets re-elected this November (and, I think he will, in a landslide), then, he will have made history - as he will become the first GOP FL governor ever to win a 2nd term in this state. Good for him, because he deserves a 2nd term! :)

FLORIDA HEALTH CARE ASSOCIATION ENDORSES BUSH

HOLLYWOOD, FL-The Bush-Brogan 2002 campaign today received the backing of the Florida Healthcare Association (FHCA) at the organization’s state convention in Hollywood, FL. Lt. Gov. Frank Brogan accepted the endorsement for the campaign. The FHCA represents more than 1,300 health care providers at almost 800 facilities throughout the state including 551 nursing homes, 133 Assisted Living Facilities, 369 Associates, and 62 corporate memberships.

“Governor Bush and I are honored and thankful to have the support of the Florida Healthcare Association,” Lt. Gov. Brogan said. “The welfare of Florida’s citizens and healthcare providers has long been a top priority for our administration, and will continue to be for the next four years.”

“We are grateful to Governor Bush and Lt. Governor Brogan for the attention and concern they have paid to Florida’s healthcare providers over the past four years.” FHCA Executive Director Bill Phelan said. “We enthusiastically offer our support and look forward to working with Gov. Bush and Lt. Gov. Brogan for another term.”

Governor Bush and Lt. Governor Brogan have a lengthy list of accomplishments in the health care arena:

* Over the last four years, funding for aging-in-place programs and community care for the elderly has increased by 59% allowing more of Florida’s seniors to age at home, with support, security, and dignity.

* Since 1998, funding for services to help those with developmental disabilities has increased by 94%, allowing more Floridians with developmental disabilities to have access to the full range of needed services, including increased access to community and home-based supports, rather than institutional care.

* Since 1999, funding for nursing homes has increased by 53%, helping to improve the quality of nursing home care, decrease staff turnover, and increase staff-to-resident ratios.

With Tuesday’s endorsement, the Florida Healthcare Association joins Florida’s three largest public safety agencies in pledging their full support to Gov. Bush’s reelection. The Florida Police Benevolent Association, Fraternal Order of Police and the Professional Firefighters Association have all previously endorsed the campaign.
