Actually the term conjoined or parasitic twins is a more correct and older term that Siamese Twins. The famous conjoined twins Eng and Chang Bunker born in Siam in 1811 were the ones to coin the common name Siamese Twins. History records conjoined twins as far back as 945, with a successful separation in the 1600's.
So, conjoined is not a modern, liberal, politically correct phrase, it is just a more accurate scientific term.

Thanks.
I knew about Chang & Eng, since they lived in North Carolina (where I grew up & still live).

Great news BUMP! I love the last line : "Prayer works. That's important."

So happy to hear about the girls. My prayers are for those two little boys and the parents.

"My prayers are for those two little boys and the parents."Yep. Unlike the little girls, the little boys share brain tissue. They're going to need all the skill, support and prayer this great nation of infidels can give them.

GOD Bless the doctors and nurses, and the family. Yes, They do incredible things these days. Thank God.
Recent CNN promo photos make me wonder if Carville and Begala weren;t conjoined at the brain at one time as well.

Notice while the world bashes the US, they come here for their complicated medical procedures? When I was being treated at Cleveland Clinic for cancer about 10 years ago, I was amazed at the number of people from around the world that come here for treatment.
I guess we're not so bad after all???? And if the US gets knocked off it's perch like so many of the world wants, who's gonna take care of their poor (whom they cannot treat) or their rich (like the rich, fat Saudi sultans, kings and princes)????

I was very happy to post this article, thanks!
Regarding the Netscape Poll, I couldn't find it. Through this link, I found this poll, however.........
Poll:

If you can give me the URL Address (the "www." from the address line in your browser on the site), I can make the link for you. If the poll is still going, you oughta post it as a FReep here on FR. (Or I can if you like).......

Amen.

I wonder if they could possible be Christians. There are a number of them in Egypt, but no matter what the religion or how you address GOD or what name you call him by - I pray that those boys survive and the Doctors are able to do something. It will depend on what section of the brain is conjoined as to the quality of life one or both twin will live.

Great news indeed! God bless those babies and the doctors and their medical team! :-)
To: MeeknMing
Oh thank God. What a beautiful morning here and now it's even more beautiful with the hope both these little ones will survive. Can't imagine the happiness their parents are feeling right now. God bless them all!
To: Aggie Mama
You're very welcomed. I saw your note on the other thread last night where you asked if there was an update. That prompted me to check the Dallas Morning News and my timing was perfect - the story was just breaking that the surgery was complete and apparently successful. It's good news, indeed.
To: Aggie Mama
Yeah! I kept praying for them all afternoon and evening. And for their doctors - you never know until you get in there just precisely what you're gonna face. It takes a lot of clever ingenuity to re-route vasculature. I'm glad they feel it was successful.

Looks like the docs threw away the baby and kept the afterbirth in both cases.

Recent CNN promo photos make me wonder if Carville and Begala weren't conjoined at the brain at one time as well. No, but they do have something in common. They were a medical miracle at birth, being the only babies ever being conceived through an act of anal sex.
