Rust Belt cities in various states became vast ghettoes due to automation (the machines worked on their own). The whites left the cities, and blacks had nowhere to go. This has got to be the most ass-backwards, twisted revisionism I've read in a while.
What happened, Ms. Wells, is the same thing that happens everywhere blacks settle and "tip the scales" to become the majority: it becomes exactly like the littered, crime-ridden slums they left behind in the rural South. Click here to educate yourselves.

"Last Fridays events validated my long-held suspicions that even the most educated blacks hate whites with a passion..."
I agree that Rev Patterson is a voice of reason and decency, although I DO NOT agree with his statement (above). IMO, it is an oxymoron to say that the most educated blacks hate whites. No "educated" person would hate a race, period.

Not to you personally, but a major bone of contention:
"Imagine how much further we would be now if the 350-odd years in which we were kept under elite feet had been remedied through educational equality, employment fairness, and restoration and appreciation of culture even sooner."
Imagine how much further blacks would be now if none of them had been brought to the "New World" as slaves and they had continued to be the ignored exotic foreigners such as, lets pick Zimbabweans.
Reparations? Stand in line. I claim reparations from this country on the grounds my white great-grandmother detested my Sioux great-grandmother and the mixed/mutual generational hatred has severely impacted my phsyche.
I, of course, am a product of my fore-mothers history and DNA and have no responcibility for my individual, present day actions and choices. The "yes but" continguent should self-delete.
Do I get the state of New York or only North Dakota? Or should I just get over it? What would be "fair" in this context?

"...what they need are two-parent households with good fathers leading them. And yes, they should get educated, but that will not repair the moral and physical damage that has taken place over the last forty years."A perfect Rx for us white folks, too. The damage done by the cult of single moms is incalcuable.
Rev. Peterson is a man among men.
FWIW, John the Baptist wasn't much liked either.

Thank you... This has been one of my "bones of contention" since hearing about the nonsense of reparation demands. I'm sorry, but every black American should thank the good Lord above for the fortune of being an American today.
For those who demand reparations and thrive on racial devisiveness, get the hell out of my country!

Rev. Peterson BUMP! Of course these lackeys for the left hate him, he wants to take the government teat out of their mouths. The South only enslaved their ancestors' bodies, the Leftists have enslaved their souls.

"...what (blacks) need are two-parent households with good fathers leading them...."So the NABJ feels blacks don't need this?
Very instructive.

Rev. Jesse, I am so pleased that you are being heard in more venues. When your message is heard, the ranks will grow. It is the best hope we have for race to no longer matter and no longer divide us. God bless you.

For me, a senior at NYU...In other words, a non-journalist. Take your hate speech somewhere else, Melody.
No, wait, I take that back. Keep it where it is; that way I'll never chance coming across it again.
(By the way, did anyone consider her writing style to be, um, rather ragged? Even if you have the perfect set of biases to be hired by a "mainstream" publication, you still have to be able to write. Not even a blatantly discriminatory affirmative action hire can get around THAT.)

Does anyone have any way of finding out just who was in that audience? Obviously, writers from black-oriented publications are going to get a free pass, but if we can identify any "journalist" from any mainstream publication or news outlet that was there whooping and cheering for Mr. Dyson, we should get on the phones en masse to their bosses and demand they be fired. There's a good 50-50 chance we'd succeed; while "journalistic ethics" is a joke, the editors and publishers tend to take it VERY seriously, and there's hardly a bigger violation of it than to publicly support or attack a political position where people like us can see them and call them on it.

They're turning up the heat. They won't rest until there are more racial wars in America. They have to do it to guarantee the 2008 elections for the socialists.Oh, I disagree. If a truly nationwide race war were to break out (something like the LA riots doesn't count; nobody outside of Southern California cared, and SoCal is already under the iron-fisted control of the RATS ... if they want to keep burning down their own homes, that's their problem), I think you'd see whites racing to the polls in record numbers to vote straight GOP tickets, at least they would as long as the GOP candidates had the guts to say "This will not stand."

Educated at a liberal college=ignorant.I went to NYU, for both journalism (which I dumped quickly when I discovered I was already writing at a professional level) and political science, and I can assure you it's not a liberal-leaning school. In fact, it's where I got my first big-time reality check that liberalism is an ideology that is literally, mathematically incapable of working properly, courtesy of a professor who had recently left the Reagan Administration. And that was in the base-level, "American Politics 101" course. Basically, people at NYU respect one anothers' beliefs and generally leave each other alone.
I think it helps that NYU doesn't have an actual campus per se (Greenwich Village is the campus). No "quad," and a high proportion of commuting students, means there's very little gravity around to pull together students into little ideological cliques. Even better, our pseudo-quad, Washington Square Park, is so big and so populated by huge trees that no protest held there can even be heard outside the park, unless you get a crowd well into the 5-digit range. And that sure never happened while I was a student.

While he may be ridiculed and jeered, his courage will still reach some--will still stir thought, and raise questions. I hope you're right, I hope there will be some who hear his message. He had the courage to attend a meeting with Toyota executives and Jesse Jackson, and Jackson's thugs attacked him. He's such a decent man, and I applaud his courage and his message.
