The article says Dan Lasater is a lawyer, but I'm not so sure about that.

It also calls Kathleen Willey as "Katherine".

I am sure all criminals wish they didn't have to pay their lawyers. Once again the Clinton's are special and shouldn't have to pay their own way. I thought they already had a defense fund anyway?

Gee, one almost feels sorry for them, they are obviously destitute to be so bold as to ask for someone else to pay for their legal bills!

Have they asked for welfare yet? Poor bill and hill, no wonder she wears the same black pantsuit everyday, they are po fok.

which grew into the Monica Lewinsky case.

that's when it turned into an American tragety. Instead of killing Bin Laden when we should have Washington was preocupied with who was bobbing the presidents knob. We've got to stop doing that for the sake of the nation.

Next it will be a list of Bush Jrs adminasking for compensation. I think that we need a law protecting Sr Executive administration officials from law suits while they are in office so they can continue to do their job.

If they've done somthing bad enouph congress is suposed to act not the courts.

Who do you think impeached him?

Fat Chance.

I might go along with the protective rules you propose though, assuming that the statute of limitations was adjusted accordingly. The whole sordid legal affair of the Clintons accomplished exactly nothing positive, and probably a great deal of unintended negative conseuences.

If the alledged wrongdoing isn't important enough to persue after an Exec leaves office then its' persuit during office is probably just a political game.

Clinton Aides Have Few Legal Bills

.c The Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) - In an oddity for the Clinton presidency, top White House aides were largely untroubled last year by a long-standing hazard of working for Bill Clinton: fat legal bills.

Only one of 12 aides reported debts to law firms in 1998, according to financial disclosure forms released Monday. The exception is Bruce Lindsey, a close Clinton confidante who has served since January 1993.

Lindsey reported legal bills of between $600,000 and $1.25 million, owed to two Washington law firms. He said he owes between $500,001-$1 million to Hogan & Hartson, incurred from 1994 to 1996, and $100,001-$250,000 to Murphy & Shaffer, incurred in 1997.

Lindsey was a target in a Whitewater investigation of two Arkansas bankers but was not indicted.

As for Clinton, his legal defense fund reported this month that it has paid $4.5 million in legal fees for both the president and first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. The Clintons owe legal bills of about $10 million.

A few White House staffers, such as presidential secretary Betty Currie, still carry legal bills as a result of subpoenas in the Monica Lewinsky matter. But most who accrued such debts due to investigations - such as George Stephanopoulos and Maggie Williams, the first lady's former chief of staff - departed long ago.

This year, home mortgages are listed as the main liabilities for aides such as Chief of Staff John Podesta, political director Minyon Moore, deputy White House counsel Cheryl Mills and the first lady's spokeswoman, Marsha Berry.

They reported assets mainly comprising stock holdings, trusts, bonds or bank accounts.

Lindsey reported 1998 assets ranging from $541,000 to $2.11 million and sold stocks valued up to $22,000. National security adviser Sandy Berger reported assets in a range between $1.16 million and $2.89 million, while the first lady's chief of staff, Melanne Verveer, reported assets in a range between $1.52 million to $4.09 million.

The president's economic policy adviser, Gene Sperling, reported assets ranging between $1,000 and $50,000, and listed no liabilities.

He wasn't impeached for having his "knob bobbed on".

If the the senate had any backbone, Clinton would have been convicted and removed from office for perjury and obstruction of justice.

If you think that an outcome such as that would have been wrong, you're an idiot.

A few White House staffers, such as presidential secretary Betty Currie, still carry legal bills as a result of subpoenas in the Monica Lewinsky matter.

Cuurie's name failing to appear on this list of those seeking reimbursement is curious, to say the least.

From the list....

Anthony Marceca - A temporary White House employee who illegally collected hundreds of FBI background files in 1993-94 based on an outdated Secret Service list of White House pass holders.

Didn't he simply invoke his 5th amendment privilege and never open his pie hole?......it was Craig (who hired me?) Livingstone that gave us those 3 days of hysterical testimony.

Who's fault is that?

The blame is placed soley at the feet of one individual.......

He's a lying, traitorous rapist.
