What about Hib? How did it virtually disappear in the 90s?
This is an "HIV doesn't cause AIDS, and the drugs kill people" discussion.
You guys are doing great, but let's go save lives, huh?
Nonetheless, I understand your concern, but take a moment sometime and look at all the anti-vax websites there are, many run by chiropractors. There is a lot of disinformation out there and this forum is a great place to combat it. The posts I make are not so much directed AT our misinformed friend here as much as at people who might be inclined to take him seriously.
I was hoping he would eventually wander into the "vaccines aren't effective" argument, because that does a great job of invalidating his entire stance. There is NO DOUBT among everyone except the most deluded that vaccines have been wildly effective, and saying they aren't is very fringe thinking.
That must be one of the more "progressive" schools.
beg your pardon...
Note how the largest epidemic in recent history happened in 1952-53, which, btw, was a worldwide epidemic. Note how the disease virtually disappears when the vaccines is introduced?
LOL
Dammit Jim I'm a doctor - trust me...
I'm sorry I coudn't resist :)
How appropriate that you worship lunkheads!
I'll keep posting photos of REAL HEROES.

I figured that I would be immune since I had mumps as a baby and I had to get an MMR booster again in college due to the fact that I had no Rubella antibodies in a blood test. I went to a state university which REQUIRED this. I only needed a Rubella vaccine, but it was just simpler to go to a GP and get an MMR shot. So I figured I was as immune as could be after my previous infection and then inoculation. WRONG!!
I moved to Europe and my son got mumps. Not long after, I got them too...AGAIN. And after being immunized. Crazy, but true. Damn near killed me. I didn't get orchitis, but it did go to my liver and kidneys. I didn't know that they could give you so much pain.
Now I should be REALLY immune. Yep. You won't see me going near any more kids with mumps though...
