Prayers for this young man and his family and friends. I hadn't heard of his death. Truly a sad statement in more ways than one.

The Bush administration remains far more concerned with appeasing Mexican President Vicente Fox than with protecting American men and women at the border. Yes it's important we just forget about this man's murder but President Fox seems successfully trying to make us look bad for executing a cop killer who had always lived in the US. Bush seems all too willing to follow orders from Fox.

It is time to militarize the border and designate the worst areas as no-go, free fire zones.

This makes me sick, I never heard one cussed word from any of the Seattle TV stations either. Kept looking in my local paper, nothing
But they sure took the time in the Sunday paper, an illegal the gov pardoned, so he could stay here in Wash. He had sex with a 14 year old several years ago, and was convicted, but was still in eastern Wash, selling his tacos to field hands. I just do not know what we are going to do. I sent the letter, numbers emailed me from the BP that was with the park ranger to my local rep and have to get the email addresses of the senators, and they will get it also. Also gave the representive a piece of my mind. Senators will get a few choice words also. May just send it to all of elected senators and represenatives in Washington, plus President Bush. It is sure a sorry day when the President ignores it also.

It was Perry that didn't stop the execution, there's an article on here about the White House trying to appease Fox on this.

Well, even more important for the broadcast media--it is the 25th anniversary of the death of Elvis--all week!!!!
The media does have priorities, ya know. At least Julia Childs gets honorable mention for attaining age 90.
Now, you were saying--there's other news???? Nahhhhh, surely you jest.
(end sarcasm)

we remain a culture crippled by celebrity worshipQuite some time ago I observed that America was transforming from a culture into a "cult that worships celebrity and charisma at the expense of all other good character traits."
Here's one of my first posts on that subject:

"She makes it sound like it was Priestly's fault that this story wasn't covered." No, she doesn't. Read it again. Malkin blames the American public's celebrity worship and the major media for not covering it.

It is because even after September 11, even after all the newfound appreciation for cops and firefighters and other law enforcement officers, we remain a culture crippled by celebrity worship. There's more to the lack of coverage than celebrity worship.
We should all know by now that the news media ignore stories that conflict with their liberal view of the world, where the bad guys are usually white & wear a badge.

Priestly's broken toes don't deserve mention on national news unless nothing else has happened the whole week. Ignoring the killing of a Park Ranger on the border is inexcusable.
