Security officials announced this afternoon the capture of six Palestinians from east Jerusalem who were responsible for some of the most deadly terror attacks in recent months. The Hamas terrorists perpetrated the suicide bombing at Jerusalem's Moment Café, the suicide attack at a Rishon Letzion billiards hall, and the bombing at Hebrew University on July 31. The cell was responsible for the deaths of 35 people, officials said.
Most of the Palestinians are from the village of Silwan. The head of the cell is Waal Kassam, 31, a resident of Ras al-Amud. The arrests of the cell members took place on Saturday night when Jerusalem Police officers stopped a suspicious car on Bar Ilan Street, in a religious Jerusalem neighborhood.
The four Palestinians in the car were on their way to another terror attack and had in their possession an explosive device similar to the one used in the Hebrew University cafeteria on July 31. Kassam reportedly tried to escape with the bomb but police arrested him later that night.
Muhammed Uda, 29, who worked on the Hebrew University campus as a painter, reportedly chose the location for the bombing based on assumptions that there would be a minimal of Arab students there. According to reports, he climbed over the university's fence, and hid the bomb inside bushes.
The next day, Kassam and Uda reportedly wore perfumed gloves so that the scent of explosives wouldn't be picked up on their hands. Uda placed the bomb inside a storeroom where he kept his supplies. Later in the day, he placed the bomb inside the cafeteria, half hidden by a newspaper that he had purchased. After he quickly left the campus with Kassam, the two activated the bomb with a cellular phone. The next day, Uda reported to his daily job as if nothing had happened.
The members of the Hamas cell are suspected of perpetrating the following terror attacks:
Suicide bombing in Jerusalem Moment Cafe on March 9, 2002. 11 people were killed, 58 injured.
Suicide bombing in Rishon Letzion billiards club on May 7, 2002. 15 people were killed, 45 injured.
Bomb detonation underneath fuel truck at Pi Glilot depot on May 23, 2002. No injuries.
Bomb explosion on train tracks near Lod on June 30, 2002. 4 people injured.
Bomb explosion on train tracks near Kfar Gavriel on July 21, 2002. Train engineer injured.
Bomb explosion inside cafeteria in the Hebrew University's Mt. Scopus campus on July 31, 2002. 9 people were killed, 84 injured.
Bomb explosion underneath a fuel truck in Rishon Letzion on August 7, 2002. One person injured.
Here a clear confession that Americans were deliberately targeted, not Jews.
After his arrest, Uda told investigators he was sorry for what he had done since so many people died in the university attack, the officials said...Oudeh's brother Samr Oudeh denied Wednesday that his brother had been involved in any militant activity.
"My brother just goes from home to work ... and has nothing to do with any other thing," Samr Oudeh told The Associated Press ..."I deny the charges that the Israelis are trying to put on him."
Sorry Samr, but your brother just confessed with apologies. You are just another liar with a western media microphone in his face.
On another note, we just had an unofficial freeper coffee at the Aroma cafe tonight. So there were only two of us, ya wanna drink coffee, ya gotta come! Mseltser and I ate at the Foccia Bar and drank coffee at the aroma chatting some real right wing plans to save the world stuff. Was fun, He joked that we should put something on Freeper so here it is. Blessing to ya all and goodnight, sure is good to hear they captured these guys, and alive too. Now they know that there are 15 of them, and have their names. Some of them must have been, shall we say, down right chatty. -grin-
As a Jewish friend would say, you Americans make things too simple, and subtle too!
Trial? You going soft on us there, dennis?
Must have been the good food and atmosphere that put them in such a talkative mood.
That's what always made my guts revolve: after all the years of bloodshed, knowing only very well that no Jew can ever, ever, ever trust any Arab at all, there're Jewish idiots in Israel who continue to hire the scumbags!
Greed? Shit for brains? I say, both.
Leave the lowlife starve to death. No jobs for any Arabs. Oh yeah, there're also good Arabs. Well, tough luck. Good Arabs can give jobs to other good Arabs, if it isn't a job of gathering info for terrorists or assembling bombs.
And if you so desperately need cheap labour, Eastern Europe is full of skilled wannabe guest workers.
Boy, what a kick in the ass should I give that PC impaired caller!!!
Great idea! If nothing else it would make for a cool video with a real message that we could send to Al Jazeera, especially if we backed it up with some cool Black Sabbath tunes. Just imagine... the first of the condemned terrorists being led up the steps of the scaffold, and at the top stands a man in a black hood as the the music begins.... "WHAT IS THIS THAT STANDS BEFORE ME...."
