And they'll claim that it's just a drop in the bucket.

Commercial establishments put aerators in their ponds; the water motion, and the fact that the water circulates through a pump, usually handles the problem. For residence-based retention ponds, one can throw in an EPA-approved insecticide that'll do the job.

A few smallmouth bass tossed in the pond will do the job, too. They don't winter through, though, unless the pond is deep.

Lots of retention ponds around Chicago. No EPA suits regarding endangered species that I've heard of.

"I hope the sheeple decide to drown these frickin idiots out of office."

Me too but ya gotta remember this is in the state where the sheeple put frickin idiots Paul Welfare, er I mean Wellstone and James Janos (aka Jesse Ventura, who is as real as his phony name) into office in the first place.

Start the "recall" petitions right this minute. Recall these stupid people and blow them off the town counsel, and do it now.

We just bought a cabin in NW Wisconsin on a beautiful country lake. The folks around there just recalled the entire county board, and fired them. Seems that the board was moving to institute a "View Tax". The tax would have been applicable to all new housing that had any kind (no matter how far away from the lake front) of a view of the lakes in the county (numerous lakes in that county). Talk about fired up! These people just got plain "p!ssed" and, literally, fired the whole damn board, whether they were in support of it or not. The lovely part about it is that 8 of the 9 board members were raving liberals, and one RINO. They're all Pubbies now! Needless to say that the word "view" and the word "tax" are not allowed to be used in the same paragraph at county board meetings.

I know. I was facetiously talking about how puddles are being called "wetlands" and people were being prevented from maintaining their property because of wetland protection regulations.

LOL, Willie, re: tar and feathering.

In Oregon......this rain run-off tax is a common fee...on TOP of normal sewer fees. At least in the larger cities. There is NOTHING Oregon won't tax! And 'rain' seemed like a sure bet.

LOL, Willie, re: tar and feathering.

Sadly, I hadn't thought of that as a joke.
It's more a comment of disgust with what the American people will tolerate.

It IS a sad commentary on what people will tolerate.

I just had a mental image of a group of tarred and feathered 'water board geeks' running down the road....thru the rain...away from the angry mob. And I smiled. And then I LOL'd. :-)

Love the lyrics... BUMP!

TAXMAN (G. Harrison)

Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.

Don't ask me what I want it for
If you don't want to pay some more
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Now my advice for those who die
Declare the pennies on your eyes
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman
And you're working for no one but me.

This is not a joke? I assume not. Well, I just hope that all the bigmouths who claim I need to wear a tinfoil hat find out the hard way, when they have to pay $4 a gallon or more for water. (We do now, a quart bottle is $1 at the store). And I believe there will be a war over fresh, unpolluted water, a war between the US and the rest of the world.
