Bush shuts down terrorist financial support network in U.S. that Clinton knew existed and ignored

The following is a vanity and posted as such. The conclusions reached are my own but I think they are worthy of review Bush shuts down terrorist financial support network in U.S. that Clinton knew existed and ignored

On August 28, 2002 the AP reports:

Federal grand juries charged six men with conspiring to support Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida network Wednesday as the government escalated its efforts to stifle the flow of money and assistance from U.S. soil to overseas terrorist groups.

In Seattle, American citizen and Muslim activist James Ujaama was accused in a two-count indictment of trying to set up a "jihad (holy war) training camp" on the West Coast and providing support and resources to al-Qaida. The indictment accused him of leading discussions about creating poison to use on the public and firebombing vehicles. Ujaama has repeatedly denied any ties to terrorism.

Separately, four men who had been in the United States since at least 2000 were charged in Detroit with operating a "covert underground support unit" and a "sleeper operational combat cell" for a radical Islamic movement allied with al-Qaida. A fifth man whose full name isn't known by the government was also named in the indictment.

Both indictments used a law barring people living in the United States from providing "material support and resources" to terrorist groups. U.S. officials said Wednesday they expected several more such indictments in coming months as the FBI, Customs Service and other federal agencies attempt to block money and operational support from the United States from reaching terror groups overseas. "The evidence that is being developed suggests that America has been a piggy bank for certain terror organizations to the tune of tens of millions of dollars," said a senior law enforcement official directly involved in the investigation. Agents believe they have uncovered a broad effort by U.S. residents — many who are citizens or legal residents — to use credit card thefts, illegal cigarette sales, diverted charitable funds and cash smuggled in airline luggage to enrich anti-American and anti-Israeli terror groups, the officials said. "The material support for terrorism has to be regarded as serious as terrorism itself," said Charles Mandigo, the FBI's top agent in Seattle where Ujama was investigated. One law enforcement official said agents also recently began investigating possible terrorist funding schemes that employ the Internet or defrauding of federal aid programs. That official said evidence so far indicates the anti-Israel groups Hamas and Hezbollah receive far more support from U.S. soil than al-Qaida.

------ With the above facts in mind I direct the reader to the following Seattle news item from Channel 6000:

FBI Investigates Local Ties To Al-Qaida (Chechnya, al-Qaida and American Donations)

Channel 6000

Thursday November 15 02:56 PM EST

FBI Investigates Local Ties To Al-Qaida As investigators try to shut off the flow of money to al-Qaida, they're looking closely at a bank branch inside an Albertson's store in Clackamas. The tiny strip-mall bank is the focus of an inquiry by the FBI, the state department, and the Russian government. A Seattle newspaper reports that a radical faction from Chechnya is collecting donations for al-Qaida through an account at the US Bank branch at Sunnyside Square. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer quotes sources as saying that the Russians have repeatedly asked United States officials to shut down the account without success. The owner of the account lists an address in West Linn, but police think he's not in the area anymore.

---------- Let us read this line again The Seattle Post-Intelligencer quotes sources as saying that the Russians have repeatedly asked United States officials to shut down the account without success.

The US officials at the time were the Clinton ones since Bush was only in office a short time before this investigation happened.

I ask any investigative body out there WHY DID CLINTON'S OFFICIALS IGNORE what amounted to a Russian tip off about terrorist funding in the US? Did the Clinton administration assume that the funding being gathered by this and other accounts was targeting Russia and therefore not a threat to America?

WHAT DID CLINTON KNOW AND WHEN DID HE KNOW IT AND..AND...WHY DID CLINTON IGNORE IT!!!!

Did they contribute to his campaign or his library or his wife's campaign? Did they ever sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom?

The Global Relief Foundation and "Whiney" Haddad were raising money for the families of suicide bombers. The scum even sent his wife out to read his letters to the media. Pathetic!

I remember having dinner with some Russian Haliburton employees in April, before 9/11. They were very curious about the Clintons and asked me why the US was supporting the Muslims against the Christians in Serbia, when the US was supposed to be a Christian state. They said that the Muslims weren't our friends and that they would turn on us as soon as the time suited them. They said that instead of supporting the Muslims, we should be helping the Russians fight the Muslims in Chechnya. (I told them that Bill and Hill were socialists and that they didn't have the best interests of the US at heart, that they were more interested in a "New World Order" where the US was no longer the dominant player. They laughed and said that the Soviet Union proved that socialism could not work, that it created a huge underclass that didn't want to work.

To tell you the truth, I don't recall what their jobs were. I was a guest at an oil spill conference that my husband was attending. I always enjoy those conferences because I get to meet people from all over the world. These guys didn't speak English, though and needed another employee to translate.

I just remembered that I told the Russians that some people in the US suspected that Clinton's involvement in Kosovo was related to the oil pipeline that he wanted to build through the region. They said that it was true that a pipeline had been proposed but that they couldn't believe that would be the basis for the support of the Muslims in the region because it did not involve enough oil to justify what the US was doing there.

Hey Stav, this seems to be rather interesting. check it out.

Destro, i personally think that such events occur when those in power act in ways that show lack of intelligence. After all why did they refuse to use the info given to them by the Russians? Maybe the reason was arogance or maybe some political hang-up. Who knows.

Do you remember when President Bush first met Putin, in Genoa? I watched the press conference live. One of the things President Bush talked about in the press conference was the problem in Chechnya. Putin had brought it up, in the context of terrorism. (This was also the press conference where Putin said he found the President to be a man of great intellect and understanding, causing the press to stand there with their mouths open.) Putin also had the letter Albright had sent to him practically insulting him for asking to talk about NATO membership.

I will bet Putin has LOTS of documentation on a variety of interesting subjects, this one among them.
