Well let's see. Do we or do we not have a choice to obey the commandments of God? I'd say we do since there are some folks ie the sniper/s in DC who have chosen to disobey the commandments of God. I mean, he/they certainly aren't obeying the commandments of God now are they? You may concede this one...since the sniper chose. Yea, he'll pay. And I pray he'll pay both here and then again when he meets our maker. Yep, he chose.
You must be thinking of the "little people." I just don't see any here.
It annoys them enormously to be held responsible for their idiot behavior. They are accustomed to freeloading on others and denying that there is any cost.
Some of them do grow up. They become responsible conservatives, i.e., Republicans.
It's a short reach.
These adult brats like to bloviate about how libertarianism has nothing to do with dope, porn, prostitution, and sodomy in particular. Why, they just wish to celebrate freedom in general.
But when you get right down to it, it's solely about dope, porn, prostitution, and sodomy. They're already free to do most everything else.
It makes me chuckle when one of them piously bloats out and spews this nonsense: "And I've never used dope and I never intend to." So why do they rage? Because they are being denied the right to engage in behavior they have never engaged in and never intend to engage in? Yeah, that's the ticket. ;-)
Loons.
While some of us spent 20 years as a Republican voting for that lesser govt we were promised. Then we finally figured out they weren't gonna do it. Meantime, I remain conservative and Libertarian. I got one book of faith and one document provided which guide me...I like and trust them both.
It's soley about freedom. It's a patriot thing you wouldn't understand.
Kevin believes himself a God sitting upon a throne judging the behavior of human kind. Boy do I have a news flash for him, he ain't the judge and he ain't God . Since God said, "judge not lest ye be judged." What that means KC is that you are not the judge and you are not God. Then God said, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." What that means KC is that you ain't without sin.
That's their entire "philosophy."
Oh look, KC is giving us a glimpse at the underlying cause of his criminal behavior. Apparantly, KC is convinced that immediately after his earthly death, the first order of business will be a Great White Throne Libertine/Teatotaler Judgement. KC evidently believes that at this proceeding, God will determine whether KC has lived a vice-free life or whether KC has committed libertine acts; And if KC is found to be a libertine, then KC will be immediately sentenced to eternal physical torment in the lake of fire.
So, when you're having a discussion with somebody like this, you're dealing with someone who is motivated by pure irrational fear.
I think that the only way to deal with these fear-of-hell-fire driven authoritarians is to replace their irrational fear with rational fear.
In most cases, it was a fire and brimstone evangelist that imprinted the "punishment for vice=hell fire" world view on the brains of KC-type authoritarians. All that is needed is several talented itinerant libertarian preachers to travel around the bible-belt warning KC-types that "punishment for CRIME=hell fire."
After KC-types are scared into believing that "punishment for CRIME=hell fire" and their appetites for guilt, fear, hell-fire, etc. are satisfied, then they may even be able to figure out that the full punishments for their vices have been and are still being executed upon them in the form of their own miserable lives here on this earth (headaches after long drinking bouts, shunning by irritated neighbors, etc.).
