His first thought that day....Bin Laden did this

If he instantly knew who did it and had the whole the analyzed when he saw the second plane hit, wouldn't that imply that he had prior knowledge? Can you imagine what left wing conspiracy theorists would do if Bush made a statement like this?

Stay tuned those questions will be answered in the coming days and weeks ahead.

Q: Along that line, Mr. Secretary, Vice President Cheney said last week that Iraq was once close to producing or obtaining nuclear weapons, and said that they're getting close again. What evidence does the U.S. have that Iraq, Saddam Hussein, may be getting close again to obtaining a nuclear weapon?

Rumsfeld: Oh, I think I'll leave that for the coming days and weeks. I mean, we know the obvious. We know that they were a lot closer than any of the experts had estimated they would be with respect to a nuclear weapon, and that was discovered during the post- 1991 period by actually seeing what was there. To the extent inspectors have been out now for a number of years, we know that we don't know what's taken place during those period of years. To the extent that they have kept their nuclear scientists together and working on these efforts, one has to assume they have not been playing tiddly-winks, that they have been focusing on nuclear weapons. And so we know what we know.

We know that they have an enormous appetite, that they were very close, within a short period of time, to having a weapon. We know that our estimate had been that it was multiples of years compared to what it actually was; and therefore, we know we weren't very good at what we were supposedly doing -- that is to say, estimating that. And we also know that since the end of the Cold War, that the proliferation of these technologies has been pervasive. And we know that they have porous borders. And we know some other things, but those are the kinds of things that would come out if and when the president decides that he thinks it's appropriate.

"I thought that my virtual obsession with him was well placed, and I was full of regret that I didn't get him," he said.

And Bill Clinton left the studio with his nose a little longer, and with his pants on fire.

I personally believe that there is evidence that Iraq was involved in the attacks on Sept 11th. I think the administration knows this, and I hope and pray they will shout it from the housetops!
I am so sick of liars, whiners, cheaters, peaceniks, et al, that I could just explode!

And what might those "other things" be? -- those things it's not "appropriate" for the public to know about, for now. If they pertain simply to Saddam's possession of advanced unconventional weaponry, or his pursuit of nuclear capability, what possible reason could there be for keeping that information from the American people? I ask these questions rhetorically, BTW. I think I know the answers.

There is no doubt about it. The administration has already tipped its hand there. From White House says Sept. 11 skyjacker had met Iraqi agent:

In an interview, a senior Bush administration official said that available evidence of the long-disputed meeting "holds up." The official added, "We're going to talk more about this case."
Note the parallelism between the public handling of the Atta-al-Ani connection and the anthrax investigation. They have tracked each other perfectly. There is a reason for that.

Honestly I don't think I need to know every aspect that could possibly put our intelligence at risk. My right or need to know ends, I believe, at the point of sacrificing the ability of our military to do their job well.

Somehow, I doubt that is the reason for the lack of a show-and-tell. Makes a good story, though.

Bobba's/Reich's attention were on creating a hugh financial (Bubba) bubble (bomb) that was designed to burst after his term in office. That's may also be one of reason that the massive Liberal Machine in Florida "couldn't" manufacture enough votes for Gore to win. And Gore was obviously out of the loop.

Could there be more? Of course there could be. Can we do a better job of defense? Yes, we can. Have we learned a lot from September 11? We have," Clinton said. "So I'm basically very, very confident about the long-run future of this. I just think we've got a lot of diligent, difficult work to do."

Don't you love the way he asks and answers his own questions? And what's all this "WE" stuff??

wouldn't that imply that he had prior knowledge?

I don't think it implies that Clinton had specific prior knowledge of the 9/11 plan. It does indicate that Clinton knew that OBL & Co. were capable of executing that type attack, but he probably thought that OBL would never have the audacity to actually do it. Surprise!!!!

I could just hear Bubba when he found out. He probably said something along these lines:
"God Damn!, That crazy motherf--ker really did it!! .....Damn, I wish I had his balls!....Well, Little Bush is damn lucky he has Cheney and Rumsfeld to deal with that Assh*le. God, I'm glad that Gore isn't in there or we would all be up Sh%t's creek without a paddle!"

This may sound perverse, but I think part of Clinton really admires OBL. He has called him "smart" and "a worthy opponent" publicly on a few occasions. I really think he regards OBL as a kindred spirit in some ways.
