Steyn is the best thinker/wordsmith in the world today.
Somebody suggest another in his league? Dennis Prager on radio and in books perhaps?
To: Britton J Wingfield
I agree...great line. I printed a hardcopy of this article to put away with other writings regarding 9/11. No network is going to spoon feed me anger management, thank you very much. We need to see those planes flying into the WTC and the wreckage and carnage at the Pentagon, and remember and talk up the names of the heros on Flight 93. LEST WE FORGET. I bet more people can name the contestants of American Idol, than can name the young men on Flight 93.

Thanks, Pokey
Thanks for the ping, Miss Marple.
The most significant development of 11 September is that it marks the day America began to fight back: 9/11 is not just Pearl Harbor but also the Doolittle Raid, all wrapped up in 90 minutes.
One of my many favorites in that Steyn piece.

Totally agree with you on the "General Militia aboard Flight 93" comment by the UPI reporter. This thought absolutely captures the concept of the militia from the Second Amendment.
Also, the next best comment was:
Flight 93s passengers were the first to confront that to understand that what they were up against was not courage (as I erroneously identified it a year ago) but a psychotic death-cultism in which before committing mass murder one carefully depilates and cleans ones genitalia because paradise is a brothel. They are dangerous only insofar as theyre used by wily dictators, cheered on by their fellow Muslims and regarded ambivalently by much of the rest of the world.
This "death-cultism" ought to be handed supreme satisfaction in the form of a laser-guided bomb to send them on the journey to Allah's brothel.

Hi...could you please add me to your Steyn ping list, Wphile - I WOULD love to read him more often.....
To: Pokey78
Another great commentary by Steyn!
Now if we could get the usual Anti-American Conresscritters and effete, Leftist (but, I repeat myself) Senators to read this instead of bloviating away about how we need "more evidence" on Iraq's involvement. They just don't "get it", yet.

No pinging the Steyn list today. I'm on assignment & forgot to forward my lists to the laptop. Sorry. Oh, and I thought for a moment I beat you to a Steyn thread. Next time perhaps... ;-)

The Era of has bin Ladin lasted about an hour and half or so, from the time the first plane hit the tower to the moment the General Militia of Flight 93 reported for duty.
..... on Flight 93, Todd Beamer, Jeremy Glick, Thomas Burnett, Mark Bingham and others ..... effectively inaugurated the new Bush Doctrine: when you know your enemies have got something big up their sleeves, you take em out before they can do it.
Thank God for Our Beloved FRaternal Republic.
And thank God for Our Beloved FRaternal Republic's President and Armed Forces Commander In Chief, George Walker Bush!
Get it, World?
