I'm holding up okay, thanks for asking. I am glad that you made it out safely!

I still see and hear the plane hitting the south tower in my minds eye. I guess being so close to such a terrible event teaches you what is important, and what isn't. I was always conservative but now I have much less tolerance for the bleeding hearts on the left. At times I think that we should start lobbing nukes at the Middle East to show them what happens when you wake a sleeping dog. My respect for the military is sky high. I want to strangle the morons who think that profiling is bad. I almost broke my PC when I read about slick willie talking about his 'obsession' with bin laden on Larry King the other day, and any sighting of Hilary can throw me into a rage. So yea, I guess I am okay < grin>.

You need to share your story, too.

Take care of yourself in the coming days. You and your family and friends will, of course, be in our thoughts.

Thank you so much for sharing your story ...... and thank God you're safe and sound.

I can't imagine what it was like to be there in person ..... it was horrible enough on tv! God bless you!!!

Unfortunately, I am one of the people who can say that I know just what you're talking about. I was slightly to the northeast of the WTC heading towards that direction to get the subway uptown.

I didn't see the first plane hit, but I heard it and saw the fireball -- even had glass from the first tower come down on us. I was walking home and was next to a tall building when the second plane hit, so while I didn't see it, I felt it. The only other person nearby was a 50ish man who started to cry and yelled to me that it was another plane and that we were under attack. I was like "no way!" and when I got back to my apartment building, they weren't letting anyone in. And when I called my dad, he told me that a second plane did hit and that's when I finally realized that we were under attack.

Two times that morning I thought I was going to die.

But like you, I still get pissed when I hear the Sinkmaster try to glom onto this and grab credit for things he didn't do and any mention of the Hildebeast enrages me as well. ;-)

I still can't believe that it happened. But I feel such a disconnect when I see it on TV or in photos. Nothing can quite capture the sounds, the smells, the sights, etc., of that morning. And I still can't shake the weird juxtaposition of the beautiful morning and the fact that we were under attack. It's like we didn't know what was coming next and everything just seemed unreal.
