but are you saying that all this stuff doesn't bother you in the least bit? Hell no it doesn't bother me. It is a never-ending source of entertainment to see you guys cowering in fear of "THEM". Y2K all over again. How is your Spam stockpile down there in the bunker?
To: Texasforever
Hey, I didn't think that Y2K was the end of the world. Many people just stated that it was going to be used to build up the government's technological capability, and it did.
To: FreedomFriend
build up the government's technological capability, and it did.Yah, the microfiche bulbs were getting rare and expensive as were the tubes used on much of the 40yr old equipment.
I understand that the FBI has e-mail capability now. (in some offices):-)

Hell, DARPA created the Internet (sorry, Al). We wouldn't be here if it weren't for them.

I go to these sites and see that they really do go to extremes. UFO's, aliens, and Rockefeller. Blah blah blah.
The problem is, the powers that be (media, gov't, education, for example) are doing things that might lend themselves to a paranoid citizenry.
Propagandizing against gun ownership and other constitutional rights, pushing deviant lifestyles, overthrowing of traditional values, devising software to profile your behavior, your words, your gait, your voice tension, body language, etc., financial shenanigans in high places, microchips to track your personal records or even your bodily location, militarization of local police and documentation of increased aggressiveness on their part, Elian, Waco, National ID cards, a million people in 10 cities (100,000 people per?) to keep watch on their neighbors and coworkers....do I need to go on?
Is there any credible threat to liberty? No. Nothing to see here, as they say. Move along.

guess they have a pretty good track record with their fantasies, then. They're probably right on top of profiling you according to your URL history, too.

What gets me is that the ones who scoff at these examples of "tin-foil hattery" rarely invalidate it through evidence. They merely attack the message and messenger.

true. but you have to admit, sometimes the messengers get a little extreme, and they mix some weirdness in with the real message.
