I have trouble believing anyone would dance in the streets, cheer and pass out sweets in celebration of the deaths of these civilians. I also have trouble believing that anyone could not condemn this tradgedy without the constant use of the word "however".

Agreed, only the sick and hateful would dance over the sight of this and I hope the US can cure all of those people of their sickness really really soon.

Thanks for the links. My son was knocked out of his chair in his office by the first plane hitting. He made his way to the street and was standing in the plaza talking to me on his cell describing people jumping from One when the second plane hit. I had Imus on NSNBC and could see it happening. I knew the Trade Center well (I witnessed the '93 bombing) and knew exactly where my kid was standing. I watched as the second plane came through Two. He was right below the fire ball that exploded out the east side of the building. The line went dead and I didn't hear from him again for almost two hours. He was caught completely by surprise by the second explosion, dropped his cell and ran for his life.

My wife was a few blocks away and was moving toward the river to be taken off the island by small boat when the south tower came down. She could see the jumpers as she made her way out.

My brother was on the ninth floor of a building six blocks north. He watched it all from his office. He could see the jumpers. I can't express how powerless I felt.

We, my son and I, went in the next day and made our way down to GZ. We worked both the pile and in the pit while parts of it were still in flames. There was one related moment that should be but isn't funny....there was a Brooks' Brothers men's store at plaza level on the corner of Liberty and Church, directly across the street from the Trade Center. As we were moving south on Church to Liberty we were stopped in our tracks by a fully clothed, dust covered, headless body lying on the steps. It was a horrifying moment before we realized that it was a life-sized mannequin that had been blown there and that no one had yet had the time to get rid of. The mind does funny things. I still see it as clear as day. My son can't remember it at all.

We need to be reminded not sheltered. Thanks again.

Thanks for relating your family's experiences. I've been away from NYC for several years but know downtown very well.

I've lots of extended family in NYC but fortunately we lost no one.

Thank you for posting this. I would love to ask Mr. Daschle just how many more WTCs need to happen before we act against those that provide sanctuary and support to terrorists.

This site is worth your time to visit and perhaps add a few pics to your collection.

Of note, #2087, just as the plane is about to make impact on WTC2.It is shocking in its graphic brutality.

Another is #0126, as the plane explodes, but the vantage point is from the NJ side, and is unlike any seen from that day.

#6630 is a vivid reminder of the human toll.A leg among the ruins....

That number 1484 pic was in USA Today earlier this week. I've been looking on-line for it ever since.

Incredible "why we fight" image.

I hadn't bought a copy of USA Today for years...maybe a decade.
For some reason I bought one on Tuesday, and there was #1484 on page 5A.
First I was mesmerized, then phoned and left a voicemail with a cousin to make
sure he got a copy as well.
