Of course. Any unfriendly country is friendly to the people who are challenging the USA. Obvious.

Well put. One project at a time. Use the good work method of " Do it right the First time." that way we wont have to rework this project.(again)

Why is this different from any other point in US history?

Who sold the Japs steel, who sold the Russkies lend lease equipment in WWII? The list goes on.

Get over it. Release the dogs.

Re #9

Do not forget cell-phones, millions of them for Iranians. We can smuggle them into Iran from Iraq. America should construct many cell-phone and radio-wave transmission towers in Iraq and Western Afghan. Broadcast Persian language broadcast 24 hours a day on all channels. That will bring down the current regime. That would be a kind of sweet revenge because Khomeini relied on cutting edge communication technology of his time, cassette tapes, being smuggled into Iran.

The broadcase should emphsize preIslamic heritage of Persia, the glory of the acient past. When Iran's ancient past can be accessible without the censorship of Mullas, Islamic extremism will die in Persia. Remember that Persia was the home of Zoroasterianism and Manicheinism. There is more to Iran than just Shi'ite Islam. The same is true for all Mid-East. There is more to Mid-East than Islam. There was more than 5,000 years of preIslamic civilization before Islam. When they can come to the fore without the interference of Islam, the Mid-East and Persia will progress foreword. They can't go anywhere now because of the yoke of militant Islam which wants to blame everything on outsiders, while it even busily oppresses any influence from its ancient past.

Europe could not surge ahead until it finally recognized its legacy of ancient past of Greece and Rome.

That's an excellent point--one that I tend to forget. Thanks for bringing it up.

Anotherview would appear to be the view from your A$$. Iraq is just the highest profile target of the moment. I don't think you or I have any idea of the scope of activities being undertaken by the Bush administration to fight terror as we speak but Bush stated it on November 8th, 2001 when he said

We wage a war to save civilization, itself. We did not seek it, but we must fight it -- and we will prevail.

This is a different war from any our nation has ever faced, a war on many fronts, against terrorists who operate in more than 60 different countries.

The intel on Syria resupplying Iraq has been out there for months...and ..[ahem..clearing ones throat]..was plopped on the Pashar of Damascuses desk [Bashar Assad] last May.
From satillite photos of monthly Syrian resupply convoys and airflights into central Iraq..with confirmed numerics...ie..New Mig 29 engines..and engines and spares for Iraqs airforce...plus SAMS.
For Iraqs mechanized forces are rebuilt engines for T-72's and others..munitions..parts and spares.
The Czech rep. is marked as prime mover..but so are many other ex Soviet bloc nations.
Confronted..they deny all activity..citing no export licenses to Syria.
U.S. strategic command has noted many..many Mig 29's returning to the skies..formerly cannabilized for parts and spares.
We have the Chinese fibre optics in the region for Saddams defence grid.
Now on paper..this is not..not a serious reality..ie..a few more active Migs..more tanks to be destroyed.
But on my part..I will say this..
The Arabs are cunning..and exploit such windows of opportunity.
If they can drive out 150,000 barrels of oil per day for Saddam, and bring in resupply..what else...yes what else have they been able to pull off.
Earlier this year..Israel made some noise about flights from Iran to Syria...media dropped this..even after the Karine A incident.

Al Qeada in South Lebanon..well they are there..in numbers..with backing from Hezbullah who look the other way..while AL Qeada muscles Palestinians in camps for control.
The Palestinians are just pawns..now that they are neutralized via Israels intel and covert actions...momentum now swings fully behind Iran/Hezbullah.
The Palie thinking is for just themselves..the Iranian version is broader..and more appealing..that of the destruction of Israel..allong with the U.S.

Syria sits with over 400 scuds..with a less than 10 minute travel time to vx Israel or bust up I.A.F. airfields.
In over 13 hardened undergound missile complex's..with data encorporated from sites in Iraq which survivied U.S. munition strikes.
[Israel and the U.S. went to work on tunneling micro nukes post desert storm upon realization of that conflicts data..and leaked by U.S. media that micro nukes may be used in a future conflict].
Isalm has a tough choice to make..they are not on par to match the U.S. and Israel..no way at all..so do they put up a small effort and let Saddam go down..hope for the U.N. to grid lock the situation?
How long before Chinese micro nuke technology appears in Syria or Iran?
The active resupply by Syria of Iraq should be front page..and a session in the U.N. akin to Adle Stevensons confrontation of the Soviets during the Cuban missile crisis.

A 1-2 punch so hard that Assad and Saddam won't be able to help each other out.

Don't forget Iran from the backside. Egypt and Saudi Arabia are still wild cards depending to what extent Israel will participate. We could find ourselves with no way out but to start nuking.
