Why did Hillary make the unusual move of making an endorsement when she had previously promised to remain neutral?

Carlson said Hillary’s endorsement proves the Clintons will stop at nothing to get back into the White House.

Hillary stabbed Cuomo in the back ping!Naturally it didn't stop there! Billary stabed Cuomo in the back to support McCall, but then turned right around and stabbed McCall in the back by urging the DNC to transfer funds earmarked for New York campaigns to Floriduh instead.
Despite this I remember, on election night, Charlie Wrangle, at McCall headquarters no less, beaming and smiling and lauding Billary for how much they had helped the campaign. I half expected Harry Belafonte to suddenly appear, and the both of them to segue into a minstril show soft shoe. It was simultaneously hideous and pathetic. If I were black, I don't think my television would have survived the incident.
