Are you game for the "commentary" that will be forthcoming from the X this evening? CBS announced at 6:30 that X will be on the David Letterman Show tonight to give his perspective on 9/11.

After that announcement, there was another ... following his 9 p.m. speech tonight, President Bush is going to release a 20-page report detailing SH's and Iraq's 11-year history ... I wonder how the X is going to defend 20 pages ...

I watched about an hour of GWB at Ground Zero on network tv this afternoon. He was magnificent! He spent a very long time with families of the WTC dead, hugged them, kissed their cheeks, shook their hands, posed for pictures, signed autographs, and gave solace, comfort, and strength to everyone. He seemed to have all the time in the world, really connected with the people. And with me. I cried my eyes out.

Occasionally, I had to turn off the sound as network idiots interrupted with backhanded slaps like, "His intelligence has been debated, but no one can doubt that his emotional intelligence is outstanding." But for the most part, even the network newsjerks were respectful and impressed.

("Newsjerk" - something like the soda jerk of days of yore, but spewing (see, spinning) PC stupidity, misinformation, and venom rather than ice cream sodas.)

Let's see whether Pelley can be more respectful than he was in 60 Minutes interview with Dubya before the election. IMO, Pelley is the worst, most condescending newsjerk on any network..reminds me of a nasty little bee, stinging, stinging, stinging...he seems to hate W.
