I remember it like it was yesterday. The Twin Towers are hit. The Pentagon is hit. A plane goes down in Pennsylvania. Air Foce One may be targeted. Disneyworld and Atlanta may be hit. The White House is a target. AND there is Dubya, up in the air, worried about Bill Clinton. Gag me. The way I read this was that the former president would be a potential terrorist target.

What I'd like to know is if President Bush also ordered extra security protection for his father, Carter, Ford, and Reagan. If so, then it would make sense for him to send a military plane to pick up Clinton.

Or it might just be SOP to automatically increase protection for former presidents during a "high security alert".

sounds like she is trying to say..that either Clinton called the real Prez and then GW called him back...and sent a plane for him...we are to infer that Clinton called for the plane and GW does what Clinton commands...
