KSFO sponsered the unfurling of the largest United States Flag today in Alameda.
There were over a thousand patriots here and it took over a thousand to keep the flag flying for over an hour. After this grate Patriotic Event I ventured over to San Francisco and encountered the communist terrorist supporters.

Shore hate to see that thing tangle with an Angel. I would imagine there's gonna be some pretty restricted airspace.

WS, I believe you are correct on the dates of October 7-13.

My guess is that we would have to tether being so close to such a large body of water.
It is a spectacular sight even on the ground.

What ever works, just let me know what I can do to make this happen...it would be fantastic.
SF is quite windy lots of the time, but teathering would work.
There are lots of venues in the Sonoma/Napa area also, lots of Balloon action in the Wine Country...also we could do some tasting...LOL

YIKES! I was there today! Syncro, was that you in the Steve Austin T-shirt? If so, I'm a zoo-head! That's what I get for getting five hours of sleep!
I was in the stars & stripes Converse hi-tops, walking around with a camera reflector.
What an AWESOME day! BTW, Ch 5 did the feature at the end (they sent a copter from Sussman's own station last) ... pretty good coverage EXCEPT they said it was "sponsored by a Bay Area radio station." Bias, anyone?

KSFO honored the Firemen and Policemen that were there today, many of them such as this man and his children passed over the stage and gave their names.
Our thanks go out to them and to our armed forces too.

Roger that! I talked to a bunch of firemen and a few policemen - they were seriously into this - what a wonderful, wonderful thing to see. A more un-PC bunch I haven't seen since our last Freeper gig. And what a group of gentlemen.

Syncro, I looked right at you! I only fired on one cylinder today. I had the baseball/flag Tshirt on with my tan Aluminum Overcast ballcap. So sorry ... I KNEW you looked familiar!!! Cheese and rice!
We got some good videotape of the whole event - the airlines passing by were awesome. The last one did a very gentle waggle of its wings to salute the flag. Wish I could have heard the PA announcements.
More about the firemen: they were so excited, scrambling up and down the aerial ladder to take their own pictures. It was truly awesome.

With AP as my guide, we went into the Belly of The Beast, Justin Hermit...or is that Herman? Plaza where the Communist Terrorist Supporters were having a "peace" rally...
The speaker when we arrived was this Muzlim woman who was such the "victim" of 9-11...
I had to control my anger to be able to merge with the traitors to take pictures...grrrrrr

To: abner; Syncro; Mediaqueen
Here's another link with info -
AIRSHOWNETWORK.comFYI, October is usually pretty warm in S.F., but, there are places to tether, if need be. (Even Piers 30-32, maybe, or, the ABC parking lot on Sunday.) I just thought Fleet Week would be a great venue for the usaballoon since the military would be out here, and it would be very patriotic, and educational if abner is still handing out the pocket-size Constitutions.
Oh, my idea was since KSFO is "Hot Talk" radio and the usaballoon is a hot air balloon in the unique shape of the U.S. flag, they both have "fired-up" qualities that impassion people. (Something like that.)
If you all can make it happen, that'd be really grate, imo. : )

UH OH! Even measuring on the screen, this one is bigger! :)

Remember this guy?
He was so happy to have his picture taken, but he didn't like what I said.
I tried to get him to admit he liked America, but he just didn't get it. I suggested he find a better country, but he couldn't think of one.
I had to stop talking to him, so I smiled and said goodbye, but he was still upset. I hope he didn't have a heart attack...

In the mean time, if you think there are tinfoilers at FR, this guy made more sense than any of the terrorist supporting commies at Justin Herman Plaza:
He was ranting about President Bush, so I asked him about Clinton and he said Clinton owed him money for being a movie star...if you can figure out his sign, let me know...LOL
I thanked him for being there cause he made much more sense than the peacnics...

I know, sorry, I missed you too, bootless! I was thinking of having a sign, "Looking for a few good FReepers!" (but, I felt shy about doing that) or, asking Melanie to make an announcement to see if there were any other FReepers out there (but, wasn't sure that would be appropriate) so....at least it's grate to know, you and other FReepers were there, too! It was a wonderful atmosphere! : )
