WASHINGTON (AP) . Al Gore said Saturday night the Bush administration has failed to respect civil liberties and is letting the nation's budget surplus slip away with flawed economic policies.
He also criticized the Bush administration for economic policies, which he said, have helped reverse the successes of the Clinton-Gore administration.

Former Vice President Al Gore, speaks away from the podium, and at times seemed almost like a stand-up comedian as he poked fun at himself, but later spoke of serious issues, during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation dinner, Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, in Washington, D.C.. Where was Gore and Clinton when Iraq was ignoring the countless U.N. Resolutions? Ooops I forgot..... Those little violations were no more important than all the terrorist attacks under their watch that went un-answered.

I hope Gov Bush will have deputies at the trouble spots in November and not leave anything to chance. Reno might have given him an unexpected gift by challenging now, and Gore will have brought it about.

For eight years we were on a binge, working," he said, "creating jobs, paying off the deficit, putting people to work, building more classrooms, recruiting more teachers."And during the last few of those eight years, they were lying about the state of the economy, fudging the numbers, changing the rules for counting unemployment from one year to six months. They knew the economy was on a downslide, but lied in an effort to keep the RATS in power!! Thank God BUSH won!!
To: paltz
We have an attorney general who is not respectful of civil liberties!

To: paltz
More politics as usual. If Gore were smart he'd have used the opportunity to give his troops a positive "vision" for the future. By just sniping at Bush, Gore just underlines his own irrelevancy. His next campaign will be based on his frustrated feelings of entitlement and won't win him his party's nomination, let alone the Presidency.

To truly understand for what the Democrat Party really stands, consider the following letter-to-the-editor of the Daily Republic in Fairfield, CA that was published on November 3, 2000.

Letters: Friday, Nov. 3, 2000
Mob-Clintonites share similarities
After nearly eight years of listening to and watching the activities of the current administration, I began to notice some striking similarities between the Clinton-Gore administration and some of the organized crime syndicates that operate in our country. The following is a brief comparison of the Clinton Family and organized crime.
1. The bosses of each organization ride around in big black Cadillacs guarded by security teams equipped with automatic weapons.
2. Both organizations like telling business owners how to run their businesses, how much of the profits they are allowed to keep, and who they should hire. Non-compliance can result in devastating consequences.
3. Members and/or friends of both organizations have served time for felony convictions or for refusing to testify under oath.
4. Members and/or friends of both organizations have fled the country to avoid prosecution in a court of law.
5. Both organizations have had members and supposed friends who possessed first-hand knowledge of questionable activities turn up dead in wooded areas on public land under very mysterious circumstances.
6. Both organizations use an ostensibly legitimate operation to conceal their endless attempts to defraud the community, to plot the destruction of their enemies and competitors, and to control as much of the lives of as many honest, hardworking people as they possibly can.
7. Showing even verbal disrespect to the head of either organization can result in detention by intimidating men wearing dark suits and dark glasses.
8. When questioned by a law enforcement agency, both groups rely heavily on the Fifth Amendment.
9. When questioned by a law enforcement agency, many witnesses can barely remember their own name.
10. When questioned by law enforcement or the media, those witnesses/participants who do elect to answer questions present nearly identical, almost word-for-word testimony.
Some of the differences between the Clinton Administration and the Mob that I have noticed are:
1. The Mob can afford to pay their attorneys without soliciting voluntary donations from the taxpaying public.
2. The women with whom mobsters keep company are far more attractive than the women who are involved with the Clinton Administration.
3. Last, but definitely not least, no leader of any organized crime syndicate ever stood before a Supreme Court justice, raised his right hand while placing his left on a Bible, and swore an oath to uphold the rule-of-law and the Constitution.

"Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. Prohibition of private firearms is the goal."-Attorney General Janet Reno US Department of Justice
"There is no controlling legal authority" -Al Gore, 1999
"The Constitution? If it bleeds, we can kill it!" -Janet Reno, 1999
``We have an attorney general who in my opinion is not respectful of civil liberties in our country,'' Gore told those attending the annual Congressional Black Caucus Foundation dinner. ``I believe one of the tests of our nation is whether in times of grave challenge, we have the courage to be true to our deepest principles.''
Mr. gore should be carful what he says, since janet no longer has his backside covered, and it is a known fact that the explosives used in the attack on the USS Cole came from Iraq via Russia thru an illegal backroom of his.

no one cares what this chithead things... Gore -- like RFK's Daughter who also is piping up on the subject of civil liberties of late -- is particularly useful for the fact ANYTHING he says can be dismissed as "politics as usual".
Doesn't change the fact that both are useful Messengers for sending a message we don't want to hear and can readily dismiss (with a "BARF ALERT") because the messenger is somehow ill-positioned to deliver "send a message" ... they are dumb, they are liberals or related to people we truly loathe.
For all the talk of "marxists" around here, it's a pity no one notices it's precisely marxist (or Leninist, rather) tactics by which they're playing us like pianos.
