It is time for the American sheeple to rise up against airport security. Now who will be the first brave soul to do so. Dont look at me!!!

As I protest against the unexpected treatment This is where you made your big mistake.
You should have smiled, and thanked them for doing their job to prevent another terror attack, even if they acted like jerks and were totally unreasonable.

P.S. This is why President Bush wants the power to fire security people who don't do their job right, including not just diligence and competence but also respect for the passengers. He said he will veto a Homeland Security Department bill that gives Union protection to security thugs and incompetents.

He had the courage to post his e-mail address. Why don't you debate the subject with him?

If what you say is true (and some of it does not sound right), then it is time to get a lawyer.

This is why President Bush wants the power to fire security people Have you considered that the administration may want thugs rather than reasonable individuals? Worked for Clinton, probably would work for Bush. Want more evidence of incompetence and stupidity? Read on here.

This is why President Bush wants the power to fire security people who don't do their job right... He has the power to fire Mineta; he hasn't done so.

I'm just not buying it... I mean, if it's happening at one airport, wouldn't it be likely to be happening at others as well? How often have any of us seen groups of people repeatably being 'escorted' through crowded airports in cuffs? Anyone?
Unless this guy has some connection to one of the many leftist guerilla groups is South America, I honestly have my doubts as to whether this happened. Call me cynical, but that's my opinion...

This must be an article from the Onion that wasn't given proper credit.

The header is typical hysteria. The conduct described was not an atrocity. If true the conduct of the officers was rude, imposed much inconvenience and they should be punished in an appropriate degree. Secondly, every nation has a right to exclude aliens-period! Thirdly, the author of the article is quite simply-NOT that important!

Is Guarulhos Int'l (GRU), Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil the irport in Rio?
Because this particular flight doesn't go from Rio to L.A. - it goes from Sao Paulo to L.A.

Note: the article addresses Immigration Service personnel, not airport security.
And I, for one, think the boy's prose and imagination have got out ahead of his possibly justified irritation.
If he had justified problems regarding his "perfectly in order" papers, seems his embassy or foreign office would be the place to take the story.
I've got my own problems with the security punk's fixation on the soles of my feet.

I don't believe it either. I think there is far more to this story.

The flight he allegedly took doesn't even depart Rio... it leaves from Sao Paulo - is that the same as Rio?

I'm just glad to know that someone at the damn airports are doing thier job

Nope... Rio and Sao Paulo have different int'l airports... Hmmm...
To: Ed B.
And why have we not heard of more of these "atrocities"?
I will grant you, there are things which are disquieting about airport security, i.e. the frisking of little old Caucasian grandmas and grandpas, and little children... this I have seen, and been repulsed by... and I let my sentiments be known to all around me... for that I was not whisked away.
Sounds like an Arab Tale.
To: Godfollow
If there are "minor disprepancies" in which airport ge left from, I wonder how many other "minor discrepancies" there are in his story????
