In an effort to improve students' knowledge of American history, increase their civic involvement, and deepen their love for our great country, President Bush began the announced this morning new History & Civic education initiatives in public schools. Bush later headed to Nashville, Tennessee to campaign for Lamar Alexander, and to attend the Pledge Across America event at East Literate Magnet School. Also today, the White House released an official response to Iraq's alleged unconditional acceptance of UN inspectors. The White House Response

Meanwhile, First lady Laura Bush, along with Lynn Cheney, hosted a symposium on Women of the West in the East Room of the White House. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: This is more than academic failure. Ignorance of American history and civics weakens our sense of citizenship. To be an American is not just a matter of blood or birth; we are bound by ideals, and our children must know those ideals.

Great to be here early tonight if only for a while. Saw President Bush lead in the pledge today and heard his great speech afterwards. We are so blessed with this great man.

Thank you for the post!

Yay ! I'm still awake ! Tired tho'--been doing Dance, Dance, Revolution with the kids all afternoon--my ol' legs are aching !

Saw parts of two speeches today, President Bush seemed a little ummm..out of sorts, maybe irritated (??), but the pictures here show him smiling, so maybe it was just that he was tired

Thanks rintense, I am listening to shortwave radio. Does anyone have any favorite frequencies? What stations and when do you get them the best. It has been a while since I have tried to listen to any of my favorite stations around the world and I have forgotten where they are.

LOL! President Bush and Lamar are dressed like twins! By the way, President Bush's two speeches today were wonderful! He is one determined man regarding Iraq and his remarks about American history and how our kids don't have a clue about it were fantastic! He is bringing the American spirit back to America in a big way! I am so proud to call this man Mr. President. I just can't tell you how proud I really am! And rintense, thank you so much for the Dose. I appreciate it so much!

Using Teddy Kennedy to help him begin to destroy the leftist anti-truth-in-history agenda in public schools and Universities is ONE MORE touch of brilliance!

I love this guy!!! He's ahead of everybody on every thing!!
