Election Day 2002 is looming large, and with it will come all sorts of wild ass accusations of vote fraud, vote tampering and more. We need only look back two weeks at Florida's Democrat primaries to see what's waiting in the wings for November.
The Democrats are pulling out all the stops to try and keep their stolen, ill-gotten majority in the U.S. Senate. They're also trying to seize control of the U.S. House in an attempt to stop President Bush's National Security agenda, and protecting our homeland.
Let's be clear on what's at stake here: OUR FREEDOM. OUR LIBERTY. OUR SECURITY. OUR CHILDRENS AND GRANDCHILDREN'S SECURITY. What happens in November is going to impact this nation for decades to come. Make no mistake about it: we are at a critical time in our Nation's history. Will we protect & defend ourselves from ALL enemies and secure our freedom, or will we sit idly by and let everything our Founding Fathers worked so hard to obtain, slip through our finders? Will we let down those who fought and died for our Freedom & Liberty in two World Wars, or will we join the battle and keep their memory alive?
Look, I'm not saying go into the voting booth and vote straight Republican. I simply can't bring myself to say that given the state of the Republican party in my own state of Illinois. (Corrupt bastids!!) But what we must admit -myself included- is that the Democrats do not have our national security interests in mind!
Roadblock after roadblock are being setup by Little Tommy Dasshole in the Senate to prevent President Bush from running Homeland Security properly - including the ability to hire/fire based on performance. Democrats want to unionize Homeland Security workers. Unionizing Homeland Security workers does *nothing* to secure our borders, it only secure's some low level gubbermint employee's job!
Need more proof that the Democrats don't have our National Security in mind? Eight long, sordid years of the Clinton Presidency gave us an INS that is corrupt to the core, has no idea how many people they've let into our country, no idea how many have overstayed their "welcome" or where they're at to deport them! In fact, of the 19 hijackers that were in this country legally, most of them came here during the Clinton Presidency! At a time when the INS was defunded, demoralized, and de-equipped to do their jobs because Bill Clinton and the Democrats wanted as many illegal "Motor Voters" as they could get to get and keep control of the White House!!
I could go on for days, really - I could. But it belabors the point of how YOU can make a difference.
Ever thought of being an Election Judge? How about Poll Watcher? How about volunteering to bring people to the polls and VOTE? I've served in all three capacities, and will be doing so again this year. Personally, I find alot of satisfaction in serving in any of these roles.
Election Judges are responsible to ensure that voters are who they say they are. That includes asking for photo identification, and checking signatures of voters. In 2000 I served as an election judge and stopped alot of people who weren't registered to vote, from voting. People who fail to vote regularly "fall off the rolls" in Illinois and must re-register. These types of voters show up at the polls once every 8-10 years to vote, and complain that they should be allowed to vote since they registered "10 years ago" or so. Some election judges will acquiesce and hand them a ballot. This is wrong. I didn't. I caught hell for it all day during election 2000, but it was well worth it to stop the fraud.
Poll Watchers are there to report activities like Electioneering for candidates too close to the polls, assist those who are having problems understanding the voting process, and to watch the Ballot Box to ensure it's secure at all times - including transport to the County Clerk's office - to ensure no ballot box stuffing or tampering occurs.
Other election day volunteers are there to report any other suspicious activity, and video tape when necessary any illegal activites as proof to the State Board of Elections for any/all improprieties. Where I live vote tampering is so bad, we video tape the entire transport of the ballot box to the County Clerk's office.
So there's LOTS to do on Election Day. It's critical that anyone who's capable to serve in one of these capacities DOES SO on election day. IMO, our National Security is at stake.
But the most important issue to ME, is protecting and defending the United States of America from ALL enemies. That includes foreign (Hussein, Al Qaeda, Bin Laden, Saudi Arabia....) and Domestic (liberal democrat anti-American agenda.)
Without our own National Security guaranteed, we will have NONE of the above.
On election day, be an Election Judge, Poll Watcher or Volunteer. Aside from Military Service to our country, there is no better way to protect and defend our freedoms from being stolen from us.
It is our right. It is our duty.
Now, how do I get information to volunteer for any of these roles here in SE Connecticut?
Any CT freepers out there with links or information?
Get involved & good luck! We need more Election Judges & Poll Watchers.
That's still a legitimate way to choose sides isn't it? :-)
Seems that there's been a rash of posts on FR with this same idea since I posted this thread.
Hmmm ... wondering where they got the idea ;-)
101.111 Person desiring to vote may be challenged; challenger to execute oath; oath of challenged elector; determination of challenge.--
(1) When the right to vote of any person who desires to vote is questioned by any elector or watcher, the challenge shall be reduced to writing with an oath as provided in this section, giving reasons for the challenge, which shall be delivered to the clerk or inspector. Any elector or authorized poll watcher challenging an elector at an election shall execute the oath set forth below:
(See link for form with oath)
(2) Before a challenged elector is permitted to vote by any officer or person in charge of admission to the polling place, the challenged elector's right to vote shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of subsection (3). The clerk or inspector shall immediately deliver to the challenged elector a copy of the oath of the person entering the challenge and shall request the challenged elector to execute the following affidavit:
(See link for form with oath)
Any inspector or clerk of election may administer the oath.
(3) If the challenged person refuses to make and sign the affidavit, the clerk or inspector shall refuse to allow him or her to vote. If such person makes the affidavit, the inspectors and clerk of election shall compare the information in the affidavit with that entered on the registration books opposite the person's name, and, upon such comparison of the information and the person's signature and the taking of other evidence which may then be offered, the clerk and inspectors shall decide by a majority vote whether the challenged person may vote. If the challenged person is unable to write or sign his or her name, the clerk or inspector shall examine the precinct register to ascertain whether the person registered under the name of such person is represented to have signed his or her name. If the person is so represented, then he or she shall be denied permission to vote without further examination; but, if not, then the clerk or one of the inspectors shall place such person under oath and orally examine him or her upon the subject matter contained in the affidavit, and, if there is any doubt as to the identity of such person, the clerk or inspector shall compare the person's appearance with the description entered upon the precinct register opposite the person's name. The clerk or inspector shall then proceed as in other cases to determine whether the challenged person may vote.
We have a few people here in Houston who have been election judges for several election cycles. The H.A.T. people have been talking about this since early in the primary season. Probably others have been talking about it since Election 2000. Nice to see lots of threads on this though.
Don't Let The DemocRATS Steal The '02 Elections! Protect Freedom!
