In the end, for something like 200 million Europeans, we allowed one fascist tyrant to be exchanged for an equally brutal communist one ... and a few years later, even more people to be controlled by an even more brutal communist one in Asia, Mao. These were due to enemies within our own gates in my own opinion, selling out entire cultures and American interests at the end of WWII.
Even with that, many, many more would have been enslaved, including probably ourselves if we had not responded to the call. And we needed no UN to do so. We don't need one today either. It is an institution that is about as opposed to American intersts as a group can be, even when they go along ... and they are also opposed to the principles of liberty and representative republics.
