Add me to your list please.
Except for the most partisan Democrats, people understand the elections are run by county level government, not the state. That's why each county has a Supervisor of Elections, either elected or appointed by the county.
And, it's pretty hard to blame the Governor for local poll workers not showing up or closing the polls early.

You've been pinged, Pogy. (^:

This is good news, Ragtime- just wish we could convince 2/3 of the media and Democrat candidates of this fact!
To: Goldwater Girl
They know. They're just using it as a politically expedient charge to hurt the Governor. Don't make the mistake of thinking that they're ignorant. You don't get to the level of influencing media reporting by being ignorant. They're not ignorant, they're calculatingly opportunistic, as in saying and doing anything to win.

I would like to remain on the list, Ragtime Cowgirl.

Even the Democrats didn't buy the extensive DNC-press spin campaign. McAuliffe's spouting off today about manning the polls with his people at election time to prevent trouble (we do have state laws and local authority, Mr. DNC)...and here's a poll that says the vast majority will trust the results on election day and don't blame the Governor for past problems. Too good.

Of course. (^:

Thats good to see in the Herald of all places..Maybe they are listening to the people of Miami. Could it be?
To: Ragtime Cowgirl
Where does McAuliffe think this election is taking place, Haiti?
And, what about the appearance (let alone the actuality) of conflict of interest when McBride's chief fundraiser is McAuliffe's father-in-law? So, McAuliffe wants his people as poll watchers to watch over a campaign that his father-in-law has a direct interest in?

Three out of four Florida voters put the blame for the Sept. 10 election problems on local election officials, poll workers or voters themselves, according to a new Herald/St. Petersburg Times survey of 800 voters statewide. Only 16 percent pointed the finger at Bush, while 36 percent blamed local election officials, 23 percent named voters and 14 percent said poll workers.
''The problem was with the local training,'' said Sandra Glinn, a Reno supporter and one of those surveyed. ``I'm not sure why the governor should be blamed.''
BRAVO BUMP....how delicious to see that the Reno/McLawyer/McAwful attempts to smear Jeb didn't work!!!!
To: JulieRNR21
Big smile here, too....and what does the DNC head say today?:
McAuliffe also announced that his party would work to prevent a repeat of the problems experienced during the Sept. 10 primary, when Reno and McBride waited a week to see who won the Democratic nomination.
McAuliffe said his party would sponsor increased poll monitoring, a toll-free assistance line, multilingual public-service announcements and sample ballots, and placing lawyers and voting experts at the polls.
Out of touch with the voters? (^:

My friends who live in FL are Republicans. They were tired of their Dem neighbors blaming Jeb for the primary fiasco. I suggested they take a page out of the Dem playbook and turn the question back on them: 'Why did that same system work in all the OTHER counties in Florida?'.
To a person, they said after a few times of direct confrontation, the Dems shut up.
Dems find a phrase and repeat it until it's the accepted thought; i.e., 'tax cuts for the rich' and 'saving Social Security'.
Republicans are very reluctant to confront Dems, and every time we allow them to skate they are encouraged to do it again. Well, I say enough of that. Call them on it. In this case, make them SAY how Jeb could have prevented it. New equipment? Done. Training? Done. (Quality of training is not his responsibility). Multi-lingual ballots? Done. Polls open late? Done.
The three out of four FL voters are obviously the ones in those OTHER counties! LOL.

Agree. Calling them on it, ping!
We might have to take over AP first. The pile of positive Jeb endorsements, factual accomplishments and campaign stories sent to the newsmedia never make it to the voters. Mainstream newsmedia is DNC-occupied territory. We're building our own news territory. Voters welcome. Swamp Rats.
