The fact is that people are at least equally 'capable of monstrous, unremitting evil' when they claim to follow God's morality. It's true that people claiming to follow God's morality can commit hugely evil acts. But they don't really believe in God and in Christ, do they, when the murder and rape and pillage? If they did, they would seek to love rather than to hate, and they would fear God's wrath and Christ's judgment. Those who believe in God's morality, seek His love and fear His wrath, are much more likely to forego terribly evil acts than those who don't.

Agreed that abortion is murder but screaming it to people won't help. And it turns people off if anything... BUMP.

Steve Nichols a/k/a 'Chimp' or 'liberal scum' Hey Chimp -
It's been an honorable debate on abortion and God. Good luck in your quest for the moral truth... Don't reject the notion of a loving God. He's there waiting for you when you're ready for Him.
God bless,

By the way, I agree (surprise!) with you that there is a huge problem with money and politics.
Best,

Such an amazing thread.
I was sickened and disturbed by the testimonials/comments in the initial post, but in the end, it had become one of the most sincere, respectful and intelligent threads I've seen on FreeRepublic.
Although I'm an agnostic, basically pro-life in the personal sense(I still don't believe the government can intervene with non-born life until it becomes viable), and I DO see the world in basically black and white terms. Maybe I've been changed by the people in my life and what I've seen here on FR, but I live my life as many of you do, but without a literal belief in a Jesus or Siva or anything of that sort.
I tend to agree with Chimpanzee on a lot of levels, or at least on the basic questions he was asking and assertions he was challenging.
In Judaism one is SUPPOSED to question God, even the existence of God, because you weren't given senses, reason and intelligence for no reason. Thomas Jefferson also pointed out the contradiction in not utilizing one's gifts for what is the greatest decision/choice of all--that related to God and how one will live their life.

Heavy stuff indeed - and a great thread agreed!

I knew it! That explains all of your psychobabble. I live in Minnesota too. I know a few "Jesse" voters. They're all the same.

Lucky for you your mother thought you were a baby!!
"Fetuses are neither babies nor children, you have to be breathing and outside of the womb to be either of those"
So please tell us your definition of what we all were while we were in our mothers' wombs??
Why are Nesting turtles protected but humans nesting in a womb designed to nurture are not?

(If one good thing can be said about the UN, it is that it taught me how to spell “irrelevant.”)
