By the way, who was trying to censor who? You mentioned that a while back and I didn't fallow what you were getting at.

By the way, my being critical of the libertarians is mainly due to their political strategy, I really don't see a justification, or value for them as a separate political entity. They would have far more impact on the world, which would be good..that's a compliment, if they stayed in the Republican party. Like Reagan said, they embody the heart of the Republican party.

See, it's easy for you to sit back here on Monday, go over the situation in your mind, and then come up with the "best" way to handle it. If you're an American loving citizen, then I would hope you would have said something.

No, situations like these do not require much thinking, either in advance or after the fact, to know how to address them. Simple good manners will suffice.

No, I would not have addressed these kids, because (a) I don't engage in political conversations with strangers in fast-food waiting lines and (b) I don't see them as doing anything other than minding their own business.

Or do you suppose you would be cowering in the back of the line afraid that you might get "a mouth full of broken teeth."

No, why would I be?

See, we've became a nation of wussies, afraid to speak up for what we believe in, and that is why this nation has become so p/c.

You seem to be projecting something here. Being polite and civil are not the same thing as being, as you so adroitly put it, a 'wussy'.

And p/c will be the death of this great nation, mark my words.

Either that or mouth-breathing neanderthals confronting otherwise peaceful citizens in restaurants.

Then she was trolling for attention from her parents. Saying things openly which are contrary to your parents values is making a statement.

The parents were't home at the time. I should have been more clear about that to start with. The sister apparently thought I was "cool". Wrong!

Darn right I would confront it! That kid putting that on his jacket was his freedom of speech just as it is my right to question him about it.

No one is saying that you don't have a right to free speech, or to ask questions. I am observing that you didn't exercise you right intelligently.

He didn’t have to answer me, but he did and his anti-American rhetoric fueled the fire. I’ve bit my tongue long enough regarding the likes of you and your ilk.

So, in other words, he made you act like a jerk. Gotchya. Thanks for clearing that up.

Neanderthals huh?

Where is your Anti-Flag patch. May I get one for you?

I'm finished being nicey nice to people who are anit-American. Why does it bother you so much that I said something to that kid.

You don't wear an Anti-Flag patch without expecting to be questioned about it. I just happedened to be the one to question him about it.

Until today, I didn't even know who they were, and I still don't care, now that I do.

I'm not anti-American, and it doesn't particularly bother me, but you asked the forum, so I answered.

Whatever you say.

Anti-Flag, she knew what it meant, the kid knew what it meant, she simply challanged it. You know this and I know this.

that in other circumstances she might have had to have eaten her McMeal with broken teeth.

Ok, buddy, time to stand up and be counted. You brought this up, so you can explain it. Do you, or do you not condone this? Do you think she gave provocation for violence? Do you think she would have gotten what she deserved?

You have me confused with someone who cares about your political opinions. I could care less what you say in a somewhat civil manner. - My point is about the groupthink bashing & calls for banning now so prevalent at FR. It's become a mania.

Just want to say before you go, good job. I'm glad to see Americans standing up for what they believe in. It's about time, and if there was more political talk in the lines at McD's maybe more people would know what was going on in this country. (cause we all know we love our McD's, as far as I'm concerned, you couldn't have done it in a better place....) Have a nice day MG70.

You don't suppose that free men might have pulled their sidearms and blown a hole in the heads of anyone foolhardy enough to drag out a boxcutter on an aircraft, do you?

I'm late in the thread again, but...

You took the words right out of my mouth -- only you improved on them. I was simply going to say, "With guns."

It always amazes me how willing much of our population is to send troops all over the world, at the same time as being so reluctant to actively defend themselves at home.

Who is banning who? Who's ever called for it, and who has actually been banned? What does this have to do with MG's challange of an ingnorant youth? If you are such of rock of independant thought, why didn't you just answere the question, politely.

I made the point that her attackers were following a Leftwing boilerplate response, you come on here with your Group Think BS. Support it!

Instead you get snippy, pissy, and selfrighteous. Take a midol!

This isn't rocket science. Confronting strangers, especially groups of them, with vociferous and high volume verbal attacks can lead to violence. It's that simple, and was clearly what I was referring to.

Do you think she gave provocation for violence?

In my case, no, but again, I was postulating about the wisdom of acting in the manner that she did.

B Do you think she would have gotten what she deserved?

No, of course not, but that's not what I was getting at. Others may not be so civil in their reactions to her behavior.

Are you saying that you will not stand up for your beliefs when others publicly trample them because of your fear of physical retribution?

It sounds, to me, that it took a woman to have the wavos necessary to take a stand, out of all the men these twerps encounterd. Any wonder why Osama thought we would capitulate our foreign policy after the WTC?

No, you're inferring that, and incorrectly. Tell me, where in this entire scenario were her rights being 'trampled'? That's right; they weren't. I'm saying know how to choose the right battles.

She didn't 'make a stand'. She spouted off.

What does OBL have to do with anything in this case?

You obviously don't get my point. - I doubt you ever will.
- I 'get' yours all too well.

No, her rights weren't trampled on. But you chose to drag her through the dirt, as if she trampled on the twerp's rights.

She did take a stand, and as you stated, at risk to herself. I support that, although a 14 year old Goth is almost by definition a panty-waist and is only a threat to himself and small animals.

It is exactly the attitude of "choosing our battles", not standing up for ourselves, and the perception that we, as a people, don't have the stomach for a fight that led the the destruction of the WTC. Somalia most recently, but this has been escalating since we pulled out of Vietnam.
