A Palestinian teenager was shot dead by Israeli troops Saturday, near the West Bank city of Nablus and several other Palestinians are reported injured.
Palestinian witnesses and medical workers say the teenager was shot when he and a group of boys defied the military curfew and threw stones at Israeli soldiers. The incident occurred at a refugee camp near Nablus. Witnesses say they also heard gunfire from the center of the city.
It's the second shooting death of a Palestinian teenager in the past two days. On Friday, a Palestinian youth was killed under similar circumstances in a village in the northern West Bank, and earlier Friday, another Palestinian youngster was critically wounded by Israeli tank fire near Nablus.
These are the latest incidents in almost daily deadly violence between Israelis and Palestinians.
Nablus and most other West Bank cities have been under an almost continuous curfew for over three months - ever since Israel re-occupied much of the West Bank, in response to a spate of suicide bombings by Palestinian militants inside Israel.
Palestinians in many cities routinely defy the curfew when there are no Israeli soldiers around. They also say that, often, patrolling Israeli troops simply ignore the defiance. But, there have also been clashes, mostly between soldiers and young Palestinian stone throwers.

Palestinian witnesses and medical workers say the teenager was shot when he and a group of boys defied the military curfew and threw stones at Israeli soldiers. I swear. There must be something in the water. These people are morons. You throw rocks. They have guns. It doesn't take Dr. John Nash to figure out what happens next.

Maybe it's the part about being made to live like caged animals, 24/7, in their own city.
Looks like the cage idea works. The better the lockdown, the less Israelis they get to kill. Screw 'em. They brought this on themselves and on a certain level like this stuff. A dominance and submission kind of thing. If these losers want to follow Arafat and Hamas then this is the result.
If they want to murder Israelis via suicide bombs then this is what they get.

They were given half of Israel, but they chose murder, bombs and death.
It is apparently their terroristic way.
It DOES fool the UN and EU, but not many here.
BTW, "people" who drive virus ridden screws into innocents deserve more justice than being simply "locked up".
I am sure you agree, spongebob58.

Maybe they should think twice before throwing their whole-hearted support behind leaders that send out kids to perform acts of random mass-murder against civilians in shopping malls and pizza restaurants.
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

When you go looking for trouble, you are apt to find it. Yep. This wouldn't have happened to the kid if he were sitting home reading Ivanhoe.
To: spongebob58
Maybe it's the part about being made to live like caged animals, 24/7, in their own city. That would indeed be an atrocity, had the shot kid been in his own Arab city of Cairo or Amman. But since the foreign Arabs in Israel chose to accomodate terrorists and terrorism in the enclaves granted to the *Palestinians* when no other Arab country would accept them, it's hardly surprising that the Israelis have had to deal with them in the same manner pioneered by King Hussein of Jordan in September of 1970.

They tried to kill the King and his son in Jordan. What gracious guests they are!

Maybe it's the part about being made to live like caged animals, 24/7, in their own city. Whn you act like an animal, you get treated like an animal.

"...when he and a group of boys defied the military curfew and threw stones at Israeli soldiers..."CAUSE"A Palestinian teenager was shot dead by Israeli troops..."
EFFECT
Gee, that should be simple enough even for clueless ragheads to follow (but they don't, and probably never, ever will.)
To: Cachelot
If he lives in Israel, I would probably agree with your point. But, if he lives in America, I am not sure I see the relevance.
To: spongebob58
There would be no curfew if they didn't behave like rabid creatures.
To: Phillip Augustus
If he lives in Israel, I would probably agree with your point. The point is not Israel or the fact that they have a sea of rabid animals on their doorstep. The point is that civilization has that sea of rabid animals on the doorstep.
You fight terrorism or you are a willing accomplice - or worse.

King Hussein shot back. He was present in the al-Asqa mosque in Jerusalem when he was struck by a bullet as his grandfather was assassinated there. The slug struck a medal that the future monarch's grandfather had presented to him and had insisted he wear that day. The future king was 17 at the time.
He would face at least six later attacks on his life, but in at least two he personally fought back, once with a British Sterling submachinegun and on another occasion with a cutdown Armalite AR-18 rifle carried in his car. In another attempt, the King was in an aircraft that came under attack, in which the attacker was simply outflown. In those three occasions, and possibly some of the others, personal skill at arms was what spared the monarch's life.
His son, King Abdullah, is fully aware of what happened to his father and grandfather and knows it could come his way any time as well. And he is prepared for it, as his father demonstrated and taught him, and as he learned as a fellow *Orange Gunsite* classmate in the United States as a student at Jeff Cooper's *Gunsite* Academy in Arizona.

You're just like bait on a hook. I wouldn't let my teenager out to throw rocks even if I agreed with his distaste for the local authorities. He might get shot.

This is great background info. It helps to ad depth to the events in Jordan. A few months back Debkanet said there were Iraqi troops in Jordan. I don't know what came of it but given the information above, King Abdullah probably did not retire to his hottub.

I wonder how many people on Free Republic would take the oppression the Palestinians have suffered for 35 years. I have a feeling everyone here would be doing more than throwing rocks.
To: Your Nightmare
What "oppression?" It's a wonder that any of them are still breathing. I give Israel credit for that. After all, the Israelis are not the ones blowing themselves up among the so-called Palestinian civilians.

Yea, if they would just change their charter and took out Israeli genocide as the #1 answer to all their problems they just might move back to Jordan and live the good life !

Palestinians live better than Arabs in Arab ruled countries.

You people are clueless...
To: Your Nightmare
You people are clueless...I see. "You people" constitute the "clueless." Yet you've offered nothing but a standard pat answer to back up your assertion.
Hey! You know what? You're right! Cause we don't have a "clue" what the hell you are talking about.
So, go ahead with your "oppression of the Palestinians" thinking." 99.999% of us know better.
As for your opinion on this matter (as misinformed as it is), I'm like a gay man at a gentleman's strip club: I don't care.

It's been the Palestinian's "own" city for 1,400 years. By what right does Israel "own" Nablus?
Maybe you should head to a website that doesn't have the word "free" in the name.

It's been the Palestinian's "own" city for 1,400 years. By what right does Israel "own" Nablus?Because it is in Israel, that's what "right."
But show me one single instance of a legitimate and recognized Palestinian government in history.
Just one.
I'm waiting...
Maybe you should head to a website that doesn't have the word "free" in the name.
And maybe you should go to hell and visit a site named "Stormfront."

Because it is in Israel, that's what "right."
Who says it's in Israel? Does Israel even say it's Israel? And if it is Israel, give the Arabs there the right to vote in Israeli elections. You do believe in the right to vote, in the right of self-determination, don't you?
But show me one single instance of a legitimate and recognized Palestinian government in history.
What does that have to do with anything? They've been living there for over a millennium, it's their homeland. And if you want an example of a legitimate and recognized Palestinian government...the Palestinian Authority. Israel recognized them in 1994.
To: rdb3
BTW, the Stormfront line was pretty cheap. Not agreeing with Israel's actions does not make one an anti-semite.

You do believe in the right to vote, in the right of self-determination, don't you? They already do have the right to vote! How many Palestinians are part of the Israeli Knesset? Now show me how many Israelis/Jews are part of Arabic/Muslim nations.
Surely you are not this dense. It's unfathomable to think that you are. But if you keep it up...
What does that have to do with anything?
It has everything to do with it. It shows who owns/owned what and when.
They've been living there for over a millennium, it's their homeland.
Bull! And you most certainly don't know your history.
And if you want an example of a legitimate and recognized Palestinian government...the Palestinian Authority. Israel recognized them in 1994.
That's not a government. It's a so-called "authority." But it is not a government.
Now, show me one instance of a so-called Palestinian country and government throughout history that has went by the name "Palestine." JUST ONE. Show me this so-called nation's boundaries, where there are, and where they've been.
Show me!

Not to worry, though - if you part your hair right, nobody will notice it....
To: spongebob58
Maybe it's the part about being made to live like caged animals, 24/7, in their own city It's not their city. They lost it when they attacked Israel. Now they live there at the pleasure of the Israelis, who have every right to put whatever restrictions they want on them. They can always leave (not that anyone wants them).

You think if the Palestinians had not started shooting at the IDF the IDF might not have shot back hmmmm?
As for the "they own it cause they killed the owners and stole it 1400 years ago bit... Get real, you shoot my wife to take my grandpas watch and when I catch your a$$ you are gonna be dead, not the proud owner of a watch for 14 minutes. The Arab invaders do not have some strange right of conquest that does not apply to the Jews because they regained their land by a defensive conquest.
