I've noticed today that citings have been from areas that correspond to the names of former presidents: Clinton, MD and Fort Washington, MD. Hopefully, that is just coincidence, which it could well be. But after someone pointed out that the death tarot card mentions child, father, mother, priest and king, I doubly hope that its coincidence. If not, we could see a priest/pastor become a new victim. If so, then I hope they really keep an eye on the president. Let's hope the King George... Bush is more of the coincidence. Quite possibly it is. I just hope that the perp is not a FR lurker. Not likely, but I always worry about these things.

What do you all think of creating a ping list that 2 - 4 people can use when starting new threads about the sniper? We could just copy all of those regulars on the threads, and than pass along to the folks who start the new threads

Let's not turn this into a Flight 587 conspiracy thread. The facts of that case are obvious, as you have ably pointed out. The fact that some feel it necessary to drag their pet theories into this thread is my clue to ignore their posts.

In some decks it depicts people jumping from the burning tower, eerily similar to the events on 9/11.

Those are the pictures I saw. There could be more of a muslim/tarot card connection to this than we may think.

I mean it's pretty obvious he didn't want to kill the last two victims or he would have and he left the clues there to make our authorities think he is probably a redneck or some uneducated idiot and he's probably a iraqi trained sniper playing games with our stupid profiling idiots.

Why would terrorists want to pretend some nuts did it? I'm not sure I follow... I understand that they don't always claim reponsibility, but what purpose would it serve to have us believe it's a nutcase?

Sheesh THAT would be horrible. The dems would have a field day.

I find it difficult to believe that police didn't immediately search the area after the shooting at the school

They did, IIRC: remember the post about three busloads of police cadets showing up to search the area? That was about the time they found the flattened grass and empty brass. One would suppose that the tarot card was found at that time.

Moose may have some bridges to mend after this morning's tantrum about the media. From Reuters today:

A frustrated Moose reacted angrily when asked about the reported message. "Someone in the team, someone on the law enforcement community has done something I find very inappropriate. It indicates that I don't have control of the team," he said.

Moose said the investigation "continued to unfold" but offered few details about how police work was progressing in finding the killer.

I think those two statements: not having control (this isn't the first leak he's complained about, and the first -- about the NC man wanted for questioning, was Moose's mistake) and the fact that he gives few details to back up sweeping statements, have been true from the onset, but until today, he's received nothing but glowing reports from the media. He may be learning that the door of sudden fame swings both ways.

Chief Moose - The man taken into custody at the earlier briefing was taken into custody because he was of interest to someone there. It turned out he was not the right person and he was released.

Typically multiple search teams will comb an area multiple times. If the shell casing and the tarot card turned up together in the first search then the proability is the tarot card and shell casing are more likely related to the shooting. since the police are considering it may be from a prankster it calls the tarot card into even further question. Very good commentary. For a minute I thought he might be a Freeper. Fuhrman said he thought the killer was a spree killer and was taunting the police with the tarot card. Also said the media have misled people regarding the distance and accuracy required to hit the victims. Thought Furman got a raw deal in the OJ trial and am glad he's written a few books that have been so well received and especially glad Fox has been using him as a go-to guy.

The woman who was wisked away in PG County is NOT under arrest. They are just talking with her to try and find out why she was there.

If you wanted to continue terrorizing the entire country would you get yourself turned in or lead the cops on a wild goose chase and continue picking people off?

I can't agree with you and others supporting Chief Moose. It's always fun to slap the media, but what is he complaining about? A breach of discipline among his investigators ends up in the papers? And he blames the media? Right.

Far too much maturity and shooting talent for the perp to be young.

This guy has spent considerable time at the shooting range, and has detailed knowledge of marksmanship, law enforcement procedures, and anatomy. No way he's some punk twerp, or he would have screwed up long before now.

That's been my contention. The sniper has covered his tracks too well and shown too much discipline (one shot/victim) to be in the the 17-25 age group. Also, I doubt whatever gun and ammo the perp is using can be traced back to him. It's why the Sicko is so smug and confident enough to leave shell casings behind.

Furman is good after the fact.

Not to be argumentative, but many experts have credited Mark Furhman's book with getting Michael Skakel convicted of murder. He researched a 25 (?) year old murder and got it resolved. Waaay after the fact.

I agree, the perp probably left the casing there on purpose to throw the police completely off.
