Did Ms. Davis ever interview Ms. Van Buren? And has anyone seen this tape by now, outside of the FBI?

Both are very good questions, but I don't know the answers. Thank you for identifying another key piece of evidence.

The American public should demand an accounting of this video, the one described in the affidavit Schippers has, and the video from State Trooper Hanger's autocam that recorded the McVeigh traffic stop, as well as a brown pick up that pulled over in front of McVeigh when he was stopped.

As much as some of Specter's votes drive me crazy, he is on the right side of many issues. He is taking a risk in tackling this issue and for that I thank him.

I think Jose Padilla looks more like the other drawing though. Full frontal is easier to compare than a side view.

If Specter wants attention, he should ask for the videos. Supena them, what ever. Much better drama than some dreary notes. Getting attention to the videos would be a good strategy.

Ooooppppppppppppsssssssss! I didn't look at the whole thread when I responded. I only saw the posting to me when I checked out the comments. I should have gone to the thread before I replied then I would have seen the frontal views.

Michael Smerconish Show - 10-9-02 LIVE from Senate office of Arlen Spector w/ Jayna Davis.



Jayna gave a brief background. If I seem to be jumping around here, this is the way the conversation went. With only 1 hour to give her information, she was talking fast and occasionaly Spector would interrupt with a question or comment. Also Larry Johnson, a retired 25 yr army counter terrorism expert was there with Mike and Jayna.


1 hour before blast, OK Highway Patrol stopped car, GM BLAZER, from Dallas containing 3 ME men. Car had switched license plates. Men were detained, interrogated and released.

FBI All Points Bulletin was issued immediately after blast for Brown Chevy Truck, seen leaving Murrah bldg after blast. Presence of 3 ME men in GM Blazer was never explained.

Focus shifted to home grown terrorists, disgruntled Army vets. A memo to DOD from FBI director asked for Arab linguists to monitor Arab and Islamist traffic for terrorist threat. They were worried about protecting the President from attack when he attended the memorial.

Why was APB withdrawn? Is it still in effect? (NOW?) Brown chevy truck was towed to FBI command post. No word on that. 3 FBI agents worked with Jayna. Spector asked for names (off air). Jayna told of Palistinian immigrant, owner of business in OKC, 30 blocks from Murrah bldg. He amassed $4 million from siblings in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Israel. PLO connections. Had 8 known aliases. He hired former Iraqi soldiers to work at his business six months before OKC attack. The brown Chevy Truck was positively ID'ed as having been parked outside this business. Spector asks what would PLO interest be here. Larry Johnson, theory, there is network of "nodes". PLO, Islamist zealots. Tim McVeigh, in his writings, advocated Saddam's right to stockpile weapons. Spector brings up Ruby Ridge and Waco. Yes, but this could be retaliation for Ruby Ridge, Waco AND the Gulf War. Iraqi soldiers brought to US in 1994.

Gas station attendant witness says (?)al Hussani paid $100 cash for diesel fuel. There were 22 credible witnesses out of 80 some interviewed. She has signed affadavits for the 22. There are 8 witnesses who place al Hussani with McVeigh on 4/19. They were stepping away from Ryder truck and returning keys to hotel manager. Manager and maintenence man smell strong stench of deisel fuel. Ryder truck used unleaded fuel. Maintenence man walks around truck looking for leak.Seen at Murrah bldg.

al Hussani not at work on 4/17 the day truck was rented. Had bogus time card - it was proved.

Investigation shows cell group in OKC was under control of Pschological recruiter - Phillipines cell group - not a "straight line" says Larry Johnson as we would see in the west culture.

Jayna says in 1997 she and her attorneys returned to FBI to surrender documents (and get signature). FBI legal dept says we can't take them. Attorney speaks to DOJ - why not? - "We don't want any more documents for discovery".

Jayna says O'Reilly tried to push Jayna's story. Why would DOJ refuse documents? DOJ says on O'Reilly, because it would complicate case. Jayna says she has a transcript of show.

Preliminary trial for OKC for "State" trial against Tery Nichols is without funds. Jayna says it's a mess. Spector is aghast. OKC has NO MONEY FOR TRIAL ???

Jayna quickly tells of the motel connection, where McVeigh and al Hussani stay on on 4/19/95 and then, in 2001 Atta and 2 other men try to stay there too. Tried to rent long term while in flight school. Atta has long conversation with hotel manager;No room at the inn. After 9/11 owner contacts FBI with positive ID on Atta as having been there. Johnson says this motel was obviously a "safe House".

Jayna learns much info about al Hussani through discovery, when he tries to sue her for libel. He says he escaped from Iraq after being a political prisoner. Jayna says he never said this to INS when he came here. al Hussani left OKC and moved to Boston. Lived with 2 Iraqi brothers and worked at Boston Logan Intl. The 2 Iraqi brothers worked providing food service to planes at Logan.

Spector says too bad she didn't actually go to trial. A lot could have been learned by witness under oath.

Time is running out. Spector has to go vote on Iraq. Michael says Why isn't anybody interested in this??? She's a credible person etc. I'm just asking for someone to either rule it in or rule it out. That's it.And if its ruled out, we'd like to know why.

Arlen says that's a fair request and calls in Tom Swanton, chief of staff. Tom says he contacted the FBI & DOJ and hasn't gotten a full response, because they are so busy, what with all the oversight committee hearings etc.

Johnson talks about the hard times the FBI has been going through, by "right wing groups" re: Waco and Ruby Ridge. Spector says he chaired that committee on Ruby Ridge and the FBI admitted they were wrong. He can't account for FBI "inertia or incompetence" but we'll continue to pursue this and look at it. He won't buy Johnson's hints of malaise and intentional neglect. We want assurance that someone with expertise will look at it.

Spector says they will type up the transcript of radio show and send it over to the FBI. And says, we have a long list of stuff, blah,blah. But this is a matter that warrants an inquiry.


Arlen goes to vote. Did I hear someone say he voted NO. Sheeessshhhh.

Michael said that Prime Time Live (ABC) was interested in this matter. I didn't get whether they are going to do a show following this or what. Michael also said that he and Jayna spent "a good hour" with Curt Weldon (R-Pa) and it was a great meeting. Curt said he was "absolutely going to look into this" Several area congressman stopped by Arlen's office to talk to Michael on air. Joe Hoeffel(D-Pa) was very interested, and was going to investigate this matter. He voted YES on Iraq, FYI. Michael began to take calls from listeners, and everyone was just blown away with this info. It is just too amazing. And all the callers except 1 that I remember were saying this had absolutely changed their minds about going to Iraq. It was a great show.

I'm sorry this report sounds so chopped up. That's pretty much the way I heard it, and wrote it down.
