Pay-before-pumping rule called racist

Some places here are pre-pay and some are not. I actually had a cashier look at me like I was a moron when I tried to pre-pay once.

There is a station near my house which is pre-pay but I never do. I'm there often enough that I'd have to be an idiot to try to steal their gas. The clerk guy has never said anything to me about it.

I live in the city and almost always patronize Black-owned stations that make you pay first. I think I'd do the same if I owned one. I'm so used to paying first I naturally do it almost anywhere else.

I can even write a check at my gas station!They dont allow checks, but sometimes the debit machines are down after a storm. I stop there at least twice a week and all the clerks know me as a regular customer.

I have been in the store and seen three "drive offs" in two years.If I need gass at a station I do not normally frequent, I assume I must pre-pay.Sometimes I get funny looks, but I do not want to take the chance of a problem if their machines are down, and they have never seen me before.I never carry cash.

I am "white".I also drive a junker car.

Perhaps all white people who drive junkers can declare ourselves a "race" and push for special privileges at gas stations? //sarcasm>>

The good mayor is stating that African Americans are being profiled by this practice.

Reminds me of the broo-hah-ha awhile back, about cab drivers not going into certain (black) parts of the city (Chicago).
Jesse Jackson and Dorothy Tillman(alderman), news columnist of the Sun-Times Mary Mitchell amoung others, were crying racist left and right.
All that stopped in a hot hurry when it was noted that it was mostly black cab drivers who wouldn't go into those neighborhoods.

Unfortunately, it looks like racism to me.

Did you know that the government takes money right out of African-Americans' paychecks -- without their permission -- before they ever get ahold of it? And not just one paycheck, or two, but every single paycheck for the entire year.

Why? Can't African-Americans be trusted to pay their taxes?

Millions of self-employed business owners -- mostly white -- get to pay their taxes only once a quarter. All they have to do is fill out a couple of forms and send their money in to the government.

Surely the IRS is not implying that only these white business owners are capable of filling out simple government paperwork and mailing in their taxes once every three months?

We need answers from the IRS. For starters, we need to know where they stand on this racist tax grab from the paychecks of hard-working African-Americans.

As for treating blacks as theives, keep in mind that black men rob in percentages 20x their population niche, rape 36x, murder 21x. The black prison population is 4.6 times their per-capita rate. So it hardly seems imprudent to be a bit more wary of black men customers than others.
